says, "your privacy settings prevent chat with some people" even when im alone in a party and everything in my privacy settings are enabled.

Party not working

when I join or make a party it says your privacy settings prevent chat with some people but no matter what party I join it says theat and in privacy settings everything is set to everyone or allow I'm so mad plz help me

Privacy settings blocking party chat when privacy settings are set to allow all communication

“Your privacy settings prevent chat with some people”

Literally all of my privacy settings are set to allow communication with everyone, yet I cannot speak or hear others in party or game chat. I’m getting really sick of Xbox One not working for no apparent reason.

Try checking your settings in your profile using this guide on both the console and xbox.com

support.xbox.com/.../change-privacy-safety-settings

In case everything is allowed in there, try removing your profile from your console and download it again. That may force an update of the settings and hopefully solve your issue.

If this problem only started recently check your NAT status. If it says anything besides 'open' this could be your problem. I have this issue once in a while with my comcast modem.

Shut down your console by holding your finger on the console X for 5 seconds or until it shuts down.

Unplug your modem for atleast 1 minute. Once you plug it back in and all the light are on, turn your Xbox back on.

Check your NAT status again and try joining a party.

Hope this works for you as it does for me.

go to settings test multiplayer connection then on that screen when it finishes hold the triggers and bumpers on your controller then you will see the detailed information about your internet now look at where it says NAT see if it says strict or moderate
if its open then its good but if its strict or moderate you might not have the xbox live ports open, you would have to contact your internet provider and tell them to open the xbox live ports.

This is my chat with them. it fixed it! try it out-

Alright thank you. On your Xbox One, Please go to Settings>>All Settings>>Disc & Blu-ray>>Blu-ray>>Persistent Storage>>Clear.

After that, please press and hold the power button of the Xbox for 5-10 seconds until it completely turns OFF. Then please unplug the power supply.

After a minute, please turn ON the Xbox console. It should work then.
