    Hello everyone. I’ve purchased Snowrunner 3 Year Anniversary version on 09DEC2023 for $55.10. The game is unplayable. After 5 minutes of play time, the game will crash and force me to the Xbox dashboard.

    Initially, I reached out to the developers and tried their suggested “fixes” on 17DEC2023. None of them worked, the game still crashes within minutes of playing. Now, I’ve wasted precious time trying to redeem their mistakes when I should have just started a return.

    Xbox Support states they cannot give me a refund because I am over 14 days past the date of purchase. I feel sad and frustrated that I’ve paid for a product I cannot use. At this time I feel the only recourse is to create a dispute with my bank and run a chargeback for the faulty, unplayable game. I fear that Microsoft will retaliate and revoke my account for doing this. If I run the chargeback, will I lose access only to the digital content? Or will my account be banned? Please advise.

    they will deem it as market place theft and perma ban your account and possibly your console too.

    Hi, my name is Annanda, thank you for your question and for reaching out.

    As mentioned, most likely this will not end well. If they say they cannot refund you because of their policies, and you understand that it has been more than 14 days, disputing with your bank would be wrong.

    I understand where you come from. I once bought a game that had a problem or a game that was " dead " but that is not exactly Xbox/Microsoft's fault, okay? It is the developer's responsibility to make their game playable and enjoyable.

    With that in mind, trying to dispute with the bank trying to " get over " the policies, will most likely get your account banned, okay? I understand that this is frustrating, but this should still be adressed towards the developer.

    Can you ask your bank/ card provider to do a chargeback?

    You state the purchase was against a dormant xbox live acoount; be advised that doing a chargeback will likely lock the xbox account as having a past due balance.

    I see. No worries, you won't get banned for it either but since it has been chargeback, meaning the funds were returned to his card, your license for the game has been revoked.
