Will Microsoft repair the Ethernet port on my Xbox?

Only as a last resort before considering creating a service order for your console, I recommend trying to perform an offline update following the instructions in this link:

If the issue persists even after performing the offline update, you should be able to create a service order for the console to have that issue repaired. The technical team should have the capability to resolve that type of issue with the console, so don't worry.

If your console is not listed there, you will need to register it by clicking on the "Register device" button. Then, you will need to fill in the required information and follow the steps that appear to process the service order.

Ok, try a different Ethernet cable and a different port on the router, even try the slim on that Ethernet cable (as a test)

If a different Ethernet cable and/or router port does not help or putting the Slim in the place of the older 360 does work on that Ethernet cable then the Xbox Ethernet port is damaged I'm afraid and will have to be repaired by Microsoft.

To add what FS x Thunder NL said, you could also send in your xbox for repair. I'm guessing you're not under warranty anymore, so you would have to pay, but it would be easier than trying to fix it yourself.

Sorry to hear you are having a console issue.

I recommend you not making changes by yourself to the Xbox, even it is out of warrenty.

You have a Xbox Slim, so lucky, there is a build-in WIFI Adapter, but like you said, the wireless signal is poor at your place.

You could purchase an Access Point. This will improve the wireless signal. You simply connect the ethernet cable from the router to the AC (Access Point) and then (perhaps it ain't even needed) you configure the AP to your preferences. Connect to the AP
with your credentials and you should have a much better wireless signal before. It is recommended to install the AP in LAN-1. There are much and much different types of AP's. You just need to search on the internet via the search engine
Bing the AP that you prefer.

If you really want to use the ethernet cable, the only option is to get it repaired.

If you have tried different cables and ports on the router I'd say the Xbox Ethernet port is faulty (intermittent) and it needs to be returned to store/repaired by Microsoft
