Will Microsoft ever release drivers for Xbone controller on PC?

Titanfall is just COD with mechs, let's face it but with it coming soon would it not seem appropriate for Microsoft to release drivers for Xbone controller compatibility for PC users? I am not a fan of the Xbone controller at all but it's silly for Microsoft
not to see the potential sales, if only they got their butt in gear.

Looks like Microsoft never will since Titanfall devs just clarified 360 controller support only for the PC version.

Any PC gamers on here wanting the bone pad or are you happy with Dualshock4 and 360 controllers for non FPS?

Microsoft are also planning in the near feature to add the drivers as part of a Windows update.

 

XBONE Elite controller on Windows 10 NO vibration

Hi

I have an elite XBONE controller running windows 10 and it does not vibrate during games, I have already done the following

- updated drivers using the XBOX accessories app

- Tried using the controller cabled & wireless same result

- plugged in an original xbone controller played same games and vibration works

- tried controller on XBONE and vibration works

any other ideas?

 

The wired 360 controller I have is great.

I expect they'll release the drivers eventually but first they'll have to make the wireless adaptor for the PC, because at the moment there are no official wired controllers for the One.

As to Titanfall. Is there any actual layout difference between the 360 and One controllers? I can't see Titanfall working any worse with the 360 controller on the PC.

 

The play and charge kit for Xbone comes with a usb cord which turns it into a wired controller or if you buy just a standard pad any usb to mini wire works.

It charges and turns the controller into a wired connection when plugged in. The only thing PC users need is the driver from Microsoft.

 

Well that is good to know. I had assumed that it was like the PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers, that the charge wires would only do that.

 

No the USB cable sends data and signals now rather than just power

 

360 controller is mostly fine for PC games.

Only issue I have is the d-pad which sucks for fighting games.

Even with driver support, the X1 controller + play and charge kit is over £55 which is too much just for a fixed d-pad.

 

You can plug any old USB cable in and use the XB1 controller as a wired pad right now. As mentioned it would only need the correct drivers to work on PC.

 

I'm sure they'll get round to the drivers for it eventually... once they've sorted the issues with the X1 itself.

 

I prefer a whole stick of butter to control my games.
