Will Microsoft ever address the audio issues with XB1?

The X1 sends all audio to your AVR in a predetermined number of audio channels. For example, if you set the X1 to decode in 7.1 if you playback a source (whether it's blu-ray, Netflix, etc.) with less than 7.1 channels the X1 will still send it to your AVR
in a 7.1 wrapper. For example, if you tried to stream a movie with stereo 2.0 from Netflix your receiver will see it as 7.1, but what it's actually getting is two audio channels with audio information and 5.1 dummy channels. As well, the Netflix interface
is worse than either the ATV3 interface and the common interface found on other devices such as the PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, etc.

This is hugely problematic because it prohibits post-processing by the AVR such as DPLIIx which would ordinarily be used to matrix the 2.0 stream into 7.1. For this reason, nobody with surround sound should be using an X1 to stream anything. Hopefully Microsoft
will address this issue.

Why does Xbox support never respond to users in this forum?

Locking the thread is never appropriate. Users continue to discuss items amongst themselves and sometimes need to address other users about specific issues and workarounds discussed in the thread that would be difficult to precisely do in a new thread. Besides,
the only threads I ever see locked are about issues users are screaming about with no response from Microsoft.

Hello CrystalBlueCook, It may work better if you set a static ip in the XBOX. The DGN 2200 uses 192.168.0.1 as its main ip or gateway. In the XB1 you will need to set this address as you DNS address as well. You can assign any address to the XB1 from
192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.255. I believe this will help your issues. I use a newer Netgear and back at launch I was having all sorts of strict nat issues and ever since I set a static address in the One my issues all went away.

A hard reset seemed to fix the problem. Seems we have to hard reset with every change. Weird.

I am having the exact same issue. Doing HDMI passthrough from my Comcast X1 box to the XB1. picture freezes. Also there is no audio. I reset the cable box video out put to 1080p/60 and surround audio. This does not make any difference. The cable works fine
going directly to my TV or receiver. Issue only presents itself on the XB1.

Will Microsoft ever address the audio issues with XB1?
