    Will game dvr and upload editing be updated?


    Hello, I'm just curious is there any update coming to the dvr and upload editing for xbox? will they simplified these features and make it more cleaner interface, i find it to be congested and clunky and limited. Using game dvr and having the game play
    side by side seem to be kinda awkward, why hasn't this feature also have a automatic record option? Studio upload seem very clunky to me and it should have more shared option. Is there anyway to remove game dvr so i can record in full view instead of split
    screen cause that seem quite annoying?

    Upload Studio is used for editing Recorded Gameplay from the DVR.

    ideas and notes for game DVR and upload studio

    firstly we should get a longer record time on the Xbox version of DVR then we need folders for clips instead of switching between game tabs, then we need to be able to select clips and place them into upload studio at once, ( or from upload move them into
    a project at once) and finally we need advanced editing options for clips like slow mo / repeat / etc or just a editing app. please reply with your thoughts and opinions because i feel we can make the creator side of Xbox better Will game dvr and upload editing be updated? :)

    Hi Tristan,

    There are several reasons why you are unable to edit your Game DVR videos on Xbox One Upload Studio. It is possible that the video that you are trying to edit is saved online only. To properly isolate your concern, please provide us the following information:

    • Did you download the video from your Game DVR before editing it on the Upload Studio?
    • Were you able to edit the videos that you recorded using the Game DVR on the Xbox One console?
    • Are you only trying to edit game clips?

    In the meantime, you may try to record a game clip using the Game DVR on Xbox One and edit it on the Upload Studio to help isolate the issue further. You may refer to this

    The console does have the ability to record game clips and upload them the the Microsoft Skydrive/Onedrive that will allow you share them that way please see the links below for how to use this feature.

    The March update should also add the ability to customize the default game clip recording length

    Hi Rastigan,

    The only videos that are eligible for upload is if they have been recorded using the Game DVR, if a video is taken from Game DVR and edited externally, the Xbox App will recognize the file as external and not allow it to be uploaded.

    If you have a mobile game clip what you've recorded to your phone using a screen capture app or something like that, you can't upload that video to Xbox Live.

    Sorry, but that's not the way it works. You can download, edit and upload back
    to Xbox Live only those game clips that
    you’ve recorded with the Game DVR feature.

    Step 1: Upload the video to Xbox Live (what you want to edit)

    Step 2: Once it's uploaded to the Xbox Live, download it to your Win10 PC via Xbox App

    Step 3: Edit, trim and save the new game clip


    Step 3: Upload your edited video back to Xbox Live
