Will Discontinuation of XBL Disable DRM?

I've been hearing about, reading, and wondering when the Xbox LIVE Service for the 360 will be shut down, like it did with the Original Xbox.

It doesn't bother me that multiplayer support will be discontinued, although the only thing I'm worried about is my licenses. I am unable to play my content while offline due to license transfering my content to an Xbox I purchased, only to give it to a
friend who traded me a 320GB Slim. If the service becomes discontinued, I would be unable to play my content. (Games, DLC, et cetera)

Does anyone have any idea on whether or not DRM will be removed once the service is shut down?

An impending price-change would help explain the sudden discontinuation of the Family Pack, with no warning.

If it ever happens it will be after MS has announced the discontinuation of 360 production.

I think you misunderstood me.

I purchased a console, transfered my license, and then later on down the road, I traded a friend that same console for his console that had a 320GB HDD, which he didn't care for because he doesn't play online and doesn't install or download anything.

I am now using his console with the 320GB HDD, and am worried if the LIVE service is gone, I won't be able to play my games, because my account is virtual, a.k.a every game I own is on my download history.

It is a decent question about game use with a license transfer after the service is gone though.

I have 3 different consoles worth of content on my current HD.

Any answer would be pure speculation at this point. It's like asking what happens to all the banned accounts in the year 9999 IMO. That date will come... most of us wont care by then....

No. Switch consoles. It's all about DRM. The DRM for most XBL content is associated with both the GT that purchased/activated the code, and the console it was activated on. When the Console or the GT are not the ones that were used it then needs to sign
into XBL to verify the DRM.

The multiplayer mode was discontinued a very long time ago, so it could be that DLC for that has been disabled
