Will different types of External HDD's work on Xbox One?

So I know that for an External HDD to work on Xbox One it must be a 3.0 and have a certain amount of space, however my reasoning for making this a discussion and not something in support is, I want to know what the best external HDD's that you can buy that'll
work on Xbox One and other systems are. Preferably something that offers good value for money.

I live in the UK and I managed to come across this 4TB HDD for £95 - Hyperlink

I just want to know, would that HDD work? It probably will but its better to be safe and not sorry.

Before I purchase however, is there any other good HDD's I could pick up? I preferably wanted a 5TB HDD but I dont want to go anything over £100, and £120 at the very maximum.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Duplicate installations on Xbox One.

I have 2 external HDD's on Xbox One.

I'm surprised Xbox One doesen't have any "protection" against installing same game up to 3 times (If you have 3 HDD's).

Now and then i find duplicate DLC's stored on 2 HDD's.

Today i found 2 complete Hitman installations separate on 2 HDD's.

The cause of this is that if you change default install location, the installed content on different HDD is ignored by Xbox System.

So much HDD space can go to waste on this.

On PS4 duplicate install is impossible. That's a good thing, but the HDD handling on Xbox One is still superior as the console support hot swap of USB HDD's while console is on, but also support 2 HDD's at the same time.

Does anyone know if MS are planning to resolve the duplicate install issue?

 

Bought a game and does not work!

Not all games on demand support being installed on external HDD's due to the transfer speed of USB vs internal HDD's this could be one of those games.

 

The hard drive requirements for storing and loading games are that it must connect to the Xbox One via USB 3.0 and be at least 256GB in capacity.

Literally any drive that fits (or surpasses) that space requirement while in USB 3.0 enclosure will work just fine.

It is recommended that you use a 7200rpm hard drive for slightly faster read speeds. Most other drives seem to spin at 5400rpm. Be sure to check the spec sheets on the product page for this little detail. If you really want to get fancy, you can go full-HAM with
a 256GB(+) solid state drive -- the speed difference is even more significant and ridiculous, but it is quite expensive,
