Will deleting xbox profile then recreating same id remove all games, contents and achievements?

I was in a previous chat and was cutoff by accident...

I have an xbox 1 account that won't allow me to enter the passkey, my son forgot his passkey and ended up getting locked out.

When he tries now the following message is displayed:

    I found this article:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/security/repeatedly-prompted-for-password-xbox-one

"You are repeatedly prompted for your password and can't sign in on Xbox One

When trying to sign in to your Xbox One console, you are repeatedly prompted to enter your password, and you can't complete sign-in. "

I tried option 1 with nu luck.

If I perform option 2 will deleting my xbox profile remove all game history, progress, and achievements? Can I delete and restore all the information from the console? For example in basketball my player is a 99 rating, will I keep this if I delete and recreate
    the same user?

    Thx

    For your time...

    :)

I cant receive messages on Xbox LIVE

Try deleting your gamertag from your Xbox (profile only **NOT** profile and games), then recovering it using the Windows Live ID (email and password).

How to Download, Move or Delete Xbox Live Profiles

You need to download, move or delete your Xbox Live profile in certain circumstances. If you want to play on multiple consoles of your own or of your friends, you will have to download or move your Xbox Live profile from one console to another.

In addition, you might need to download the Xbox Live profile for the following reasons:

    • You deleted you Xbox live profile by mistake.
    • You need to use your Xbox LIVE gamertag on another console.
    • You want to use your existing Zune or Games for Windows account instead of creating a new account.

You can also move your profile to the other consoles using a USB flash drive.

How to download Your Xbox Live Profile

You can easily download your Xbox Live gamertag to a console by following a few easy steps:

    • Press the larger X button in the center of your controller which will lead you to the Xbox Guide.
    • Select Download Profile to start download. If your do not find this option, sign out of your profile by pressing X.
Enter the user ID of your Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) which is associated with your Xbox Live gamertag and then enter the password. Select the desired storage drive to save the profile.

Note: A Microsoft account is essential for signing in to any Microsoft services like Xbox Live. You have to provide your parent’s Microsoft account information to download the profile if your account is an Xbox Live child account.

You can save your "Microsoft account" password on the console, so that you don't need to provide it to sign into your profile again. The Remember Password option is off by default. It is better to save the password on your own console not to be asked to enter the password again and again at the time of singing into your profile. If you are using a console that is not yours, you may want to leave the Remember Password option off (unchecked).

Now you should be able to sign in with your gamertag on the console.

**If per chance you did opt to check the Remember Password option on someone else's console, your password can be remotely removed off of that console. Check out How to Password Protect your Profile on Xbox Live.**

How to move your profile to another console

You can easily move your profile to another console using a USB flash drive or Xbox Memory unit following these steps:
    • First off, plug a USB flash drive or an original Xbox 360 Memory Unit into your console.
    • Go to the Settings option to select storage and then select All Devices.
    • Select Gamer Profiles and Press Move.
    • You need to select the USB Storage Device or Memory Unit
After performing the above successfully, remove the memory unit or USB flash drive and insert it into the console on which you want to move your profile. You are required to enter your Microsoft account password which ensures the security of your account.

After playing on another console, if you want to move it to previous console, remove the USB flash drive or Memory unit and take it back to the original console and repeat the steps above.

**You will be asked for your Microsoft account password when you move your profile to a different console. This is to protect you and your account if the device is ever stolen. If you want to find out more, check out How to Password Protect your Profile on Xbox Live.**

How to delete a gamer profile

You can delete unused profiles following few steps:

    • Go to Settings to select system.
    • Select Storage
    • Go to All Devices and select Gamer Profiles.
    • Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
    • Press delete.
Note: You can delete the profiles only or you can delete both the profiles and items (the associated saved games and achievements).

Will deleting xbox profile then recreating same id remove all games, contents and achievements?

The passcode is not the same as your password, The passcode is done on the controller. You should definitely NOT delete your profile, you WILL lose all that is tied to it.

You may want to try one thing though, delete your account from the xbox one. Then go in and re download that account. That should allow you to bypass the passcode, I've had to do this once myself.

Lost an Xbox 360 offline profile... need to get it back.

I agree. There is no way to restore an offline profile once deleted. You can 't even create a profile of the same name and transfer the content over to it. I just made a profile and named it test profile. I played deadlight and popped an achievement and
continued playing until I hit a checkpoint. I then deleted the profile only but saved the profile data. I rebooted my xbox and made sure the unkown profile data was still present. I then recreated the same offline profile name and tried to move the data to
it, not possible. Sorry man I'm afraid you lost all of your hard work.

    profile is corrupted

please recover it. then it should be okay :) first delete your old profile. you may want to back up your game saves first. copy those to a flash drive or to cloud...

    To delete:

Go to Settings, and then select System.

    Select Storage.

    Select All Devices.

    Select Gamer Profiles.

Select the gamertag that you want to delete.

    Select Delete.

    Select one of the following:

Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.

Select Delete Profile and Items to delete the profile and the associated saved games and achievements.

    To recover:

Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).

    Select Download Profile.

Note Not seeing Download Profile? Press X to sign out of your profile.

Enter the Windows Live ID associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. If you don’t know your Windows Live ID or password, see Manage your Windows Live ID.

Now, enter your Windows Live ID password.

Note If your account is an Xbox LIVE child account, the parent’s Windows Live ID information is required to download the profile.

Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).

Your profile will begin downloading. Once your profile is downloaded, you can choose whether or not you want to require your Windows Live ID password to sign into your profile.

my advice is "Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements."

how do i reload my xbox live profile without deleting anything?

Hi, could you take a look at the following link please.

    -

    support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete-

    -

It is possible to remove all the files associated with a profile when you are deleting the profile so please make note of the section regarding profile deletion in the link above. Downloading a profile should not put at risk your files at all.

    -

◦Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.

◦Select Delete Profile and Items to delete the profile and the associated saved games and achievements.
