    Will buy Xbox, need help!

    Hello!

I haven't been up to date with Xbox ever since 2011 or something, which is when I stopped playing. Now, I am ready to buy Xbox One and I have a few questions!

    1) What are some of the exclusives I should definitely get? (Halo is the only one I have planned)

    2) Should I use a monitor or a TV? I have a pretty small bedroom, so I can't set up a huge TV. Also, I've heard that monitors need a specific cable, so that also could be a problem. (TV and monitor suggestions are also appreciated)

    3) Will I be able to use this profile on Xbox One and will it save my previous game progression if I play my X360 games on it?

    4) Any things or tips I should know?

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

    Hi and welcome back.

I can't comment on what type of monitor as I only use a TV and am not familiar with monitors.

Yes you can use that account on Xbox One.

I'm pretty sure game progress is saved from 360 to One if you play it as a backwards compatible game.

If you're looking for exclusives then Suset Overdrive is awesome. The Forza games and Forza Horizon games are good too. There's also Quantum Break and Rise of the Tomb Rider. A lot of people also like Dead Rising 3. Recore is supposed to be pretty cool too.

Just to add about game saves. You do need to save them to the cloud in order to use them on backwards compatible games. The One won't see them otherwise.

Welcome back to the Xbox community! Hope you enjoy your new system.

Some of the great exclusives (mind you this is my opinion) Rise of the Tomb Raider(Timed Exclusive), Forza Horizan 2 & 3(Great open world racers with a huge community for the driving enthusiasts), Forza MotorSport 5 & 6(For the true racer simulation die
hards), Halo 5(The newest installment of the Halo Series. Awesome shooter) or you can catch/relive the original series with Halo Master Chief Collection, TitanFall (another great shooter at a budget price), Recore(awesome little platfomer with lots of action
and adventure), Sunset Overdrive(Another awesome and quirky action adventure platformer at a great budget price), and there are some notable exclusives on the way Gears 4 (Oct 11th), and Scalebound (2017). Awesome news is that you can now play some of your
favorite 360 games on the Xbox One console too and many more games are being added daily. Complete list here

For myself I use a monitor being that the input lag a bit faster on monitors when compared to tv. The only reason I care much about the input lag is because I like to get competitive online with all the shooters and sports games. My preference for size is
between 23 to 27 inches. I just like to have everything visible in front of me without having to scour a ginormous screen for content and que's. But it's all based on preference my friend. Big TV's are great to use when playing and showing off your gaming
rig but when you have a family or significant other, trying to get some alone time on the primary Big screen could prove to be a challenge.

For the sake of using your backwards compatible games on the xbox one and continuing from the point your left off in a game, you will need to make sure to save your latest game save onto the cloud save option on your 360. That is great news if you still
have your 360 available to you, all you would have to do is just migrate your latest games save into the cloud storage. Then you will be able to pick up where you left off on the Xbox One.

No need to worry about your gamertag, gamerscore, or friends list as this will all be taken care of for you once you link your account to the new Xbox One. So Cheers for that!

One very useful tip is to invest in a external hard drive for storage of your games. The games are usually sized anywhere from 15 to 40 or more GB of space. Right now i have the Xbox one 500gb model with a 2.5tb harddrive attached externally and I'm about
    half way full.

Well Cheers again. Hope this helps you out and enjoy.

  7. Just an FYI about a monitor. Not all monitors are created equal, obviously. Don't think for a minute that a cheap monitor will outperform a TV, it's all about the quality of the monitor, not that it is a monitor. The actual hardware of a monitor is pretty
much the same as a TV, the only difference will be the size and quality of the screen, the amount and type of inputs - monitors tend to have fewer inputs, and whether or not there are speakers built in. As long as the monitor has HDMI and built in speakers,
    you're good to go.
