    Will an Xbox 360 mic work with an Xbox One console?


    Um, hi. I have a question. I got an Xbox One S console this weekend. Since we've just moved into a new house, I accidentally munted the chat chord to the mic it came with. I still have my mic from my Xbox 360 console. I've been away from Xbox for ages due
    to my busy schedule. It looks like the mic input thingy to the controller looks the same as the Xbox 360 controller (small circle whole). As the title, will it work? Any help would be fab ^.^ :]

    Whats the Rock Band Premium Mic like?

    I've just picked this up from (Xbox 360 Official Rock Band Premium Mic (Xbox 360) £10.95 - Free Delivery) for £10.95 and think it's ace!

    It says on the FAQ on the official site that it works with other singing games and that you can connect 2 mics to the same console for games that support dual singing modes....so my question is....will this work with LIPS?

    The Turtle Beach X41 mic chat randomly stopped working with my Xbox One.

    Mic chat works fine on laptop and 360 chat.

    I've replaced the chat adapter and still nothing.

    Any help?

    There are a number of incompatible headsets for the Xbox One, depending on what you have, it most likely won't work. This page lists several of the incompatible ones on the bottom of the page:

    Connecting Compatible Headsets

    Just because the end connector looks the same, does not mean the headset will work.

    no unfortunately not if its the standard issue 360 headset that comes with the console, some other headsets do, i use my 360 turtle beach X12's which needed the headset adapter to work

    no unfortunately not if its the standard issue 360 headset that comes with the console, some other headsets do, i use my 360 turtle beach X12's which needed the headset adapter to work

    [/quote]If the cable imput is only for audio then there would be absolutely no way for the mic to work on the headset to begin with. But it does because it's power is coming from through the headset from the battery pack, which
    is why this still makes no sense to me at all. That said, there's no reason that the headset should work but not the mic, except maybe the protocols.

    This is thread like 4,052 on this subject. Wear your mic from your 360 while playing your Xbox one if you are that concerned about it. Xbox 360 won't be supported much more than a year. So working on the chat between consoles isn't worth the investment to
    the xbox team.
