Will an Xbox 360 game code work on the Xbox one?

No. They won't. Codes are unique to the product, so if you have a code for an Xbox One game, it will not work for the Xbox 360 version of that same game.

No. Games coded for the PowerPC based Xbox 360 will not work on the x86 based Xbox One.

G'day LMAO! If that code is specific to Xbox 360 then it will only work on Xbox 360. Is there anything printed along with the code that states it can be used on Xbox One as well? If so, there will either be a 2nd code to be redeemed on Xbox One, or the content
will be downloadable from the game's Addons menu on your Xbox One console.

that is probably a code that only works for xbox one. look closely at the card with the redeem code and see if it specifically says the download will be on your 360, or just that it's a 360 game that you can use on xbox one.

In short, Drives formatted for Xbox One only work on Xbox One and Series X|S, they don't work on Xbox 360.

A slightly longer explanation is that the formatting and file system is different. Even if the format and file system were the same, the games downloaded on an Xbox One still wouldn't work on an Xbox 360 as they are actually coded differently. Even the Xbox 360 games wouldn't work as they have been reprogrammed to only work on Xbox One/Series X|S.

If you have your Xbox 360 connected to Xbox Live you will need to download these games and apps directly via that system. It's not possible to transfer them between generations.
