Will a Xbox One purchased in the US work in Brazil?

Hi all, I am going to be in Brazil for a month for work and am considering bringing my console, which I purchased in the US. Aside from needing a converter for my power cord, are there any issues with using my console in Brazil? I wasn't sure if I would
be able to connect to Xbox Live in another country.

Secondly, say I am unable to get online for whatever reason, am I able to play games that I have a physical copy of the disc without being connected to the Internet?

We are currently living in CA and moving to Southern Spain this summer but don't want to wait (7) months to buy an Xbox there.

Voltage standards in the other country are one thing to pay attention to. The Xbox One S/X has a universal power supply that would support 110-240V. I believe Spain has arouand a 220V standard, so
it should work - but you will need to get a different figure-eight AC power cord so it will be able to plug into a Spanish outlet.

 

Yes, first of all with the correct power supply unit your Xbox one will work in Brazil no problems. Now for Xbox Live and your account. You can change your region which will enable you to take your gamertag & achievements but will unfortunately lock any
region restricted content. Region locked content can include subscriptions to Xbox Music, SKY TV, and other streaming Apps. On top of this you will only be able to switch your region once every three months.

Gaming offline is no problem either. The only time you'll need an online connection is for the initial setup of your Xbox One, and to get the latest system and title updates before you start playing some games.

Thanks for the info. One additional question: when you say a correct power supply, do you mean a different PSU that is configured for Brazilian wall outlets? Or do you mean using my existing US PSU and using a converter into the wall outlet?

Also, if it is the former, where can you purchase PSU's for different regions?

 

A step up/down transformer should work but to be completely safe it might be worth your while getting hold of an official Microsoft PSU. You can get these from Amazon.
