Will a Regular Black 3.5MM Xbox One Controller Work on Xbox One S?

I have just purchased the Xbox One S Gears Of War 4 Limited Edition and I purchased the Gears Of War 4 Limited Edition Elite controller for it as well. My old controller is a standard Black 3.5MM controller that came out before the new Bluetooth controllers
came out, I am wondering if this old controller will work with the new console, as it still has some life left in it and I prefer not to waste it if I can help it? So yes I am still using the old standard console which in my case came with the Assassin's Creed
Unity bundle back in 2014, I did however purchase the new Black 3.5MM controller when that came out, because of the vibration and for the 3.5MM jack. Any answers is much appreciated.

Covert Forces Controller and Bose QC15

Same thing with the new regular Xbox One Controller with built-in 3.5mm Headset Jack. Bose QC15 don't work at all. How is this not fixed yet? These are top quality headphones which work perfectly with PS4 plugged into the Dualshock4 controller. Why can't
Xbox One just update the controller to support it?

 

Covert Forces controller d-pad problems

I just got the black Xbox One controller with the 3.5mm, and I'm also having problems with the D-pad. If I press the D-pad lightly it won't work like it should, I have to press the D-pad 2 or more times for it to respond. I shouldn't have to be applying
a lot of pressure on the D-pad for the controller to work, the controller that came with my Xbox One did not have this problem. It seems like the new controllers with the 3.5mm headphone jack came out defective.

@gds1972 Good to hear and thank you for the nice & quick reply. Is the syncing of the wireless signal the same being pressing the signal button on the console and the controller at the same time, until the signal matches correctly?

 

Yes all you should need to do is press the pairing button on the controller and console and you should be good to go.

 

@gds1972 Thank you for the help I haven't received it yet, as it hasn't arrived at my place yet and it won't be for a little while before I open it after I receive it, as I am still doing a few installs on my older system that I am installing to my external
hard drive's that won't be done for some time. I just decided to ask to make sure it works before trying it and find out I'm wrong. Thanks Again
