Will a Red dead redemption 2 code which is region locked to the US work in the UK

I've seen multiple threads saying that xbox one isn't region locked but some games are, but I can't seem to find enough information to form a conclusion. I'm buying off my friend in the US but he says its region locked to US and isn't sure if it will work
in the UK since it isn't global.

your account region doesn't change with redemption codes

are you buying the right codes?

xbox gift cards are region locked meaning if you buy us gift codes they only work on us accounts

if you have a Germany account region but buying us or uk codes that wont work iut will cause a us or uk billing account

you have to buy currency cards based on your account region and actual region

so if you are buying us currency cards but have Germany billing address you are causing a split billing where the us currency or foreign currency wont work on your local account

Most codes are region locked, which is why we always suggest you make purchases from either our store or local retailers. You have to option to contact
Xbox Support and have them look up the code. Hope this helps!

 

Try the code and see if it works. Whats the worst that can happen? Just make sure it works before you pay him.

Xbox Ambassadors send out codes all of the time and I presume they get them from a US source. Their codes always work for me and I’m in Ireland.
