    Will a Hard Drive from a banned console work with an new Xbox 360?


    My main account recently got console banned for reasons I won't disclose. I spent a lot of money on DLC and Games and I really don't want to lose all that. I can cope with losing my original Gamertag and game progress. But I really don't want all that DLC
    to be gone. So I'm wondering, can I use my current Hard Drive from the banned console on a different Xbox 360. In other words, can I just pop in my current Hard Drive into an Xbox that isn't banned and just delete the banned content (i.e. Gamertag and game
    progression). An answer would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible as I dont want to inadvertently ban another Xbox 360. Thanks in advance!

    Question about hard drive

    If I take a xbox external hard drive from a banned console, and place it on a new xbox will that get that new xbox banned?

    If the account that purchased all your dlc etc has been banned then all of the dlc etc. wont work anyway.

    You forfiet any dlc,remaining live sub etc. when your account is banned.

    You could try contacting xbox support to see if there is anything they can do to get your purchases back

    No point.When an account is banned that's it,you can't get any downloaded content bought with that account back.

    Support has nothing to do with enforcement anyway.

    Hi there,

    if your old hard drives are from the same type as the one from your console console then they should work.

    A official Xbox 360 hard drive from the Slim consoles will fit inside the E consoles, but the origial xbox 360 console hard drives, will not fit in/on the Slim or E consoles

    Please see this support page on how to remove/install the hard drives per Xbox 360 console type:

    Just to add onto SoulDogWarrior's post, it is against the Terms of Use to use an old Xbox 360 hard drive in an Xbox 360 S console by taking off the shell. You must use an official 250 Gb or 320 GB Xbox 360 S hard drive only! I suggest getting a new and official
    hard drive before your account and/or console is ban.
