WIFI RESTARTS XBOX ONE TIME WARNER CABLE

I am reposting this because I still see posts about this issue and want to get the word out that this is not a xbox issue this is a Time Warner Cable issue. Hello! Is your Gateway the Technicolor TC8717T ? Or perhaps the TC8715D? TWC (Time Warner Cable),
recently released a new firmware that changed the wireless encryption...Now when the Xbox Is connecting and shaking hands with it it gets a really messed up instruction and the wireless card crashes and the Xbox Follows suit. No worries it does all this to
protect the console from harm and there is a fix. To be more precise there is 3 known fixes for this gate way and always the option to swap it out. Your console is not broken. You can go wired, Change the encryption or have TWC roll back the last firmware
update. If you follow these instructions I believe your issue will be resolved. (Sorry most of this from memory and based off the TC8305C) How to Change Wireless Security 1.Open a web browser. 2.Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the
address bar of the internet browser. (Example http://192.168.0.1/ ) 3.The gateway will then prompt for a user name and password. The default is the user name “admin” and the password is “password”. 4.From the menu on the left select Gateway. 5.From the submenu
on the left select Connection. 6.From the next submenu select WiFi. 7.Under Private WiFi Network select Edit on the Network you wan to use. 8.Select the "Show More Security Options" (allow the pop up) 9.Select WPA TKIP (about the 6th option from the bottom)
10. Press Apply. (confirm the prompt about WPS no one used that and it is kind of insecure) 11. Select Save. Give this a go and tell me how it goes.

Xbox One Wifi - Need Help connecting

I have my Xbox One in my room and the WiFi we use is Optimum Online (for those who don't know its like Fios, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Etc) so normally when you connect you need to login normally thru a window to type in the login username and password. On the PS4 it connects then i sign in thru the Internet Browser but Xbox doesn't allow me to do it.

How Do i sign in and connect with the Optimum WiFi on my Xbox One or what exactly do I need to do?

Thanks for the info, and as you mentioned that seems to fix some of those Time Warner issues.. Rather than posting a How To thread, I would suggest watching the forums for someone having this issue, and posting that solution to their thread.

We were finally able to get our xbox one to work by plugging our internet cable directly into the console. Thank you!
