Wifi Range Extender causing frequent disconnects

I recently bought a new Netgear WN2500RP range extender to help fill the dead spot my xbox is in. I have no issue connecting to the 2.4 Ghz put out by the extender, and when I test the connection using settings, the xbox says it connects to the internet.
However, Live is frequently dropped or not connected to. I'd be playing matchmaking on Halo 4 and chatting in a party, when I'd lose connection and then spend a lengthy time struggling to reconnect.

This occurred so often that the banhammer on Halo 4 gave me a ban for quitting, which was the final straw. My quarrel with the Halo 4 server is minor,, mostly regarding how a network disconnect is seen as a quit. However, it is Xbox Live's lack of connection
that I'm concerned with. Is this a common problem with extenders? How can I fix it?

Can wireless adapter be used with the Xbox One to increase controller range?

I've got my Xbox One in another room to my TV and as the Xbox One Controller uses direct wifi to connect its range is severely limited, so I'm right on the limit of the range and my controller disconnects itself one average every 2 - 3 minutes. If I were
to use the wireless adapter on the Xbox one with a USB extender, would that allow me to extend the Xbox Controller range?

 

I disconnect from xbox live every hour

Hi my cousin who works in computer recently brought round a TP-Link wifi range extender model TL-WA830RE, to boost our internet connection up stairs but unfortunatly ever since getting this device i've been disconnecting every hour for some random reason.
I have even tried using the ethernet port on the range extender for my xbox but it still disconnects every hour, and if i turn it off to go on my xbox with no interuptions i deprive the others upstairs of internet and also have a poor connection with out the
range extender.

PLEASE HELP.

I use Virgin media super hub and the TL-WA830RE.
