Wifi problems with Xbox One

Ok so I've had problems before with my wifi in my house so to fix it we went and bought a brand new Netgear NIGHTHAWK router. Everything works perfectly with it. We have quite a few Amazon Fire Tablets along with cell phones that work with the wifi. But
for some reason, when I start my Xbox One and go to either update a game or download something, the connection is constantly going up and down, as in speed of download. Anywhere up to about 35-40 Mbps and drops down to around 1-5 Mbps. Sometimes it even cuts
out totally and drops the entire connection while downloading a new update for a game. And when it happens on the Xbox One, it also kills my wifi connection on my phone and all other devices that are on the network. The wifi is there but the internet connection
is dropped. Why does my XB1 kill my wifi connection or interfere with it at all??? Its very frustrating to pay this amount of money for a game system that totally messes things up in my house when i want to play. All the wifi problems were solved when i got
the new router but now the xbox is screwing it up. Why??? I don't have any prioritization to any devices on the network so it's not like the xbox is getting anything extra compared to any other devices. Will a hardline connection fix this? I've tried both
2.4GHz and 5 GHz connections and both have the same problem. Its really frustrating me since I've spent all this money thinking my router was messed up and now I've come to realize that this whole time, the problem is my XB1.

Problems for home Wifi when Xbox One Is wired into network

I'm having a problem with my wifi in my house when my Xbox One is connected to my Modem/router via cable. When anyone is on their tablet/phones their wifi quits working. You shut off the Xbox One or unplug the ethernet cable and everyone's wifi works with
no problems. If you have the Xbox One connect via wifi there are NO problems. The only problem with that is the download speed is about 1/5th the speed. I'm just curious if anyone has had this problem.

Hey there.

Sorry to hear about the troubles with your wireless connection! To start out, do you have UPNP enabled on your NIGHTHAWK router? If not, please give that a try, as that can often clear up any issues with multiple devices connecting at once. Also, can you clarify
how many devices you're using with your wireless connection?

I've added a wifi booster in the problem room. Even with 100% wifi signal, the download speed was terrible (0.01 mbps). I've connected the xbox one to the wifi repeater via an ethernet cable and the problems seem to have cleared (download speed of 13.9
mbps). Has the wifi card in the xbox started to go bad?

It's likely that your network hardware may not support multiple consoles connected at once. Have you made sure to enable UPNP within your network's settings? Also, when you get a chance please share the make and model of the network hardware you use.

The issue you that you're describing sounds like an issue with your wireless router. Do you have any other Xbox consoles in your home that are also connecting?
