    Wifi down tried Ethernet and it's not working


    my wifi went down so I went I buy a Ethernet cable cause I can't access the router and plugged the cable straight into the wall behind my console but it won't connect it says I haven't set up a network yet and if I try to connect it tells me that my DHCP
    server won't connect. Please help.

    xbox one s. wifi not working

    Xbox one s has started to think it has an ethernet cable attached when theres not one connected. also wifi will not work due to ethernet cable setting stopping wifi from working. console works fine and connects to internet when ethernet cable is plugged
    in but console has allways operated with wifi and have only used cable when problem arised. any ideas. I have tried console reset but problem still exists.

    Can't play any online games, connected to xbox live though.

    Connecting via ethernet fixes this issue, not sure why it's not working over WiFi. It worked fine for the last week.

    Thanks. I tried MediaXBOX on the wifi and GameXBOX Ethernet, GameXBOX wifi and MediaXBOX on Ethernet, and both on wifi but I had no luck. Each time the GameXBOX worked fine and the MediaXBOX didn't.

    Did you mean you _don't_ have a connection problem if you connect using an Ethernet cable, but you need to connect by WiFi because it's impractical to run an Ethenet cable to where the console should be? (I understand that; even though an Ethernet cable
    _can_ be 100 meters long, hwo wants a cable running across the house and down the stairs to trip on?)

    If I do understand that WiFi fails when Ethernet works, how many bars of signal do you have for your WiFi?

    Same happened with me.

    My ethernet connection stop to work and I tried to configure the WIFI, with the same problem.

    I think a thunderstorm fried my xbox :-(

    Is that a way to FORCE the use of WIFI ?

    Bad multiplayer connection

    15 down and 10 up should be enough for gaming. Try and temporarily use Ethernet to see if its a Wifi issue, if so then it could be a few things such as interference from lots of wifi devices or other routers nearby. If it does work better wired, then you
    could try and buy a power line Ethernet adapter, they work pretty well as long as your house has decent electrical wiring.
