    Wifi Disconnects then Controller


    After a few months of perfect usage and no change in network settings, my xbox starting randomly disconnecting from live and every time it did that my controller would lose sync with the system and start blinking. I've tried hard resets and different controllers.
    Ethernet works fine but I do not want to use that. I've seen these posts everywhere and have not seen a single solution for it.

    Xbox One Disconnects from internet.

    Yes, unplugged and reconnected everything multiple times. Without fail, controller light starts blinking, then the wifi disconnects.

    I'm having this same issue. When I plug a controller in USB and navigate to the network, it shows I have no network and when I try to search for my network, it just loads and loads.

    2 things:

    first: Do you run your xbox in power save mode? If not - test it - it's much better for starting Services and so on.

    second: Dou you hide your SSID in your router? If yes this could be a problem.

    Be sure that you run the latest Firmware for your router.

    Yes I run it in power save, no I don't hide the ssid from the router. It works fine for awhile and then diconnects. And the Xbox never finds my neighbors wifo either. My phone still works so the internet is fine and issues are only going through Xbox. Seems
    like the latest update did this

    I am CCNA certified....it is nothing to do with my router, I have tried changing channels as well as frequencies.. 2.4 and 5ghz, nothing helps. It looks like hardware failure on the xbox.

    Even with the wireless now turned off (using ethernet) the controller disconnects randomly and will not re-sync without turning it off and on a few times. As I recall the controller uses wifi direct to connect to the console. Fantastic.

    Customer support was able to give me some tips and for the moment it seems like it has fixed my problem with this.

    Press the menu key of the controller.

    Go to Settings > Disc & Blu-Ray.

    In the BLU-RAY section select "Persistent Storage".

    Select "Clear persistent storage". (Do this step 3 times)

    Next power off the xbox by holding the button on the console for 10 seconds, then unplug the power for at least 1 minute.

    Reboot by holding the xbox symbol on the controller so they both turn on at the same time.

    When booted go to Settings -> Network -> Advanced Settings -> Select Alternate MAC address -> Select Clear -> Select Restart.

    That did it for me, hopefully it helps someone else.

    Same problem for me. Controllers keep disconnecting. It happens if other people use wifi for game or netflix. Wifi interferes with the controllers connection. Very bad. Next time a PlayStation!

    I'd assume your console is connected wirelessly to your WiFi. Since you say the network as well as the controller are disconnecting, I'd guesstimate, that you have a device that also uses the 2.4GHz frequency like the controllers and the WiFi, that interferes
    with your WiFi and wireless controller connection.

    It might be a badly shielded microwave oven, or a wireless baby monitor, or a garage door opener remote or one of those remotely switchable power outlets that might cause interference that causes your controller and WiFi to get disconnected.
