Wifi connection.

I bought a Xbox One S. I was tryng to conncet it to my home wireless network.

How can I type the password to connect to a wifi network? The controller is not a keyboard and has not the keys !

How are you connecting to the internet? Are you using a wired connection, or a wireless (WiFi)? I had a console where a WiFi connection would give me occasional problems, so you would want to check that out.

 

Is ethernet faster than wifi on downloads?

Let's look at it for a sec, 802.11g wifi is a measly 54Mbps, but even if you have a FiOS 50Mbps internet connection, wifi is still faster than your connection. But things like latency really bog down wifi.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Usually, you just have to press the (A) button over the area where it is asking for your password. After that an on-screen keyboard will show up and you can use that to enter your password. Fore more information

You might want to invest in on of these for your controller. I use it all of the time playing with other players. Buy Xbox Chatpad - Microsoft Store

 

Normally when you press A, it should open an on-screen keyboard on which you can select letters, numbers and signs by using using the left stick.

If it didn't open for you, try restarting your console and then try again.
