Wifi connection problem on the first launch

Hi, recently I purchased an xbox one s, everything looks fine, but I am unable to connect to wifi during the initial launch.

My apartment wifi requires me to fill my username and password to connect, all I need to do is to open a browser, navigate to a page and fill my information. However, xbox one doesn't allow me to do that on that step, it just shows the wifi list, and let user
choose his wifi. In my situation, entering the password is not done yet, I have to do the things mentioned above, in order to trust a wifi certificate. If I use my university wifi, I don't think it will work so well, because my university wifi also requires
me to use my user id and password to log in, and trust a certificate.

On the other hand, I also tried to connect xbox to my mobile data hotspot, still not working, it said no response during 30 seconds.

Based on my situation, can anyone provide solutions ? Thank you.

Why when i test my xbox live connection does it say its working, but it doesn't?

How are you connecting to the internet? Are you using a wired connection, or a wireless (WiFi)? I had a console where a WiFi connection would give me occasional problems, so you would want to check that out.

Maybe a problem with your connection. what is your internet like? you using eathernet or wifi to connect the console?

My problem is different from the one you mentioned, so I am unable to try that solution. I haven't connected to Xbox Live before, this is my first xbox console. I think the main problem is that xbox doesn't let me navigate to the log in page on the initial
launch. If I don't trust the wifi certificate, I will be blocked. Plus, the wifi connection step is unskippable, that's why I stuck there.

I'm sorry to hear that.

When trying to connect the Xbox One with a network that needs further authentication, for example University Wi-Fi you would need to register the console Mac Address to the network device. (Ex, Modem/Router/Gateway).

Now since it's still in the initial set up, the console would need to finish the set up with a different type of Internet connection (wired, or Wi-Fi) so that way you'll be able to get the Mac Address.

I suspect this is caused by the console, I suggest you contact your ISP as I think your modem/router has extra security measurements which is causing those extra steps.

Finally it works, I manually enter the MAC address from my phone, whose certificate has been approved, and turn the wifi off on my phone, then the xbox is able to connect to wifi.
