Wife's Live Account

My wife and I both have Xbox Live accounts for our 360 so that when we play with friends across the country we can both talk. Due to the loss of family subscriptions, it's now more costly for us to maintain 2 accounts, and have for now reverted to just
mine. I'm considering buying an Xbox One, and have heard that if we do so, I will be able to do everything with my main account that we needed hers for (play with friends online on any game and both be able to talk). What I'm wondering is, if we do get an
Xbox One, what should I do with my wife's account? She doesn't care about gamerscore or anything like that, but she does have a windows phone and uses her account for that. So should I just let her account get forgotten, and keep her connected through her
phone? Or should I start having her connect to her phone through my live account?

I've had a live account for years now but when I set it up I used my gmail email. I also have an local free profile for my wife that I set it up using my Live.com email account. My wife's account doesn't have a Live gold pass so it's just a free local account. Recently I signed up for a xbox Live Music pass about a month ago and I've been enjoying it so far (gmail account)....so to the Issue.
I just got a new Windows phone. All sync'd up and working with my live email account. My music pass though is not showing up for my Live account so I can't sync up my playlist and such. There is also no option to "log in" to your music pass as it uses the account the phone is already setup with which is my Live account.

So how do I switch my music pass to be associated to my Live account? I've been trying for hours to just delete my Wife's free profile account so I can remove my Live email association but I can't figure out how. I do know that I'll have to change my XboxLive account name which is cool with me. But when I try to switch my account over it says My email that I want to use is already in used by a Xbox profile (Yeah, my wifes').

 

Amazon Instant Video: Multiple Xbox Live accounts, multiple Amazon accounts

My wife and I each have our own Xbox Live Gold accounts. We also have our own Amazon accounts. On our Xbox One, we have the Amazon Instant Video app installed. In this app, my Xbox Live Gold profile is linked to my Amazon account, and her Xbox Live Gold
profile is linked to her Amazon account.

However, once you start the app, there appears to be no way to switch from the currently authenticated Amazon account without rebooting the console. The following is what we have to do to switch Amazon accounts:

1.) Boot up Xbox One

2.) Sign into my Xbox Live Gold account

3.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

4.) Watch **** purchased with my Amazon account

5.) Turn off Xbox One

6.) Boot up Xbox One again

7.) Sign into my wife's Xbox Live Gold account

8.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

9.) Watch video Y purchased with my wife's Amazon account

From my perspective, the following SHOULD work, but currently does NOT:

1.) Boot up Xbox One

2.) Sign into my Xbox Live Gold account

3.) Start up Amazon Instant Video

4.) Watch **** purchased with my Amazon account

5.) Press Start

6.) Select "Switch User"

7.) Sign into my wife's Xbox Live Gold account

8.) Watch video Y purchased with my wife's Amazon account

After step 7 here, my Amazon account would still be the one authenticated in the app, even though we have switched to my wife's Xbox Live Gold account.

Has anyone gotten this to work? It seems like a bug to us.

 

On the xbox one you only need one main gold account, all other accounts get free gold time on that box.

If you revert back to the 360 you will still need separate accounts.

I would not advise getting rid of your wife`s account, just add it onto your xbox one, its not going to cost you any extra.

That way she won`t need to use your account, as account sharing is not allowed according to the code of conduct.

I can`t give any advise on the phone as i never use one and honestly don`t know how they work.

 

You don't need a gold subscription to use your account on a Windows Phone. I'd leave her account active, even if you don't renew gold, that way she can continue to use her phone and play her phone games on her own profile (and check her own e-mail rather
than yours). Plus, like Owen said above, because of the Xbox One's "Home Gold" feature, all users on that console share gold features if one profile has gold on it.

 

Thanks. Now if i get say a year sub for my wife, and in 6 months I get an XBOne, can I move her sub to mine or do I just have to ride out a sub that is only really useful on the 360 if we even still use it?

 

If you give your wife an yearly subscription to XBL, then in 6 months when you do get an Xbox One, it should run as normal. You won't necessarily need to "ride out" a subscription as you could stack up to 3 years at a time with one account. An Xbox Live
subscription is only valid for one per account, you can't "move" subscriptions in that sense.

 

Were you to keep gold on your wife's account only and later get an Xbox One, yes you can download her profile to the console. With her gold profile on the console, Home Gold kicks in and provides you with gold features for your profile on the console.
