In regards to her understanding your hobby, I understand why she doesn't get that your Xbox One is more than just another console.

That money could be used for emergency situations, and that totally is a justifiable reason for her to not want you to buy your Xbox One.

But I think my advice would be to try and get her involved in your hobby. Tell her all the cool things that the Xbox One is good for besides gaming if she has absolutely no interest in games.

Also Bowski, that made me laugh, haha and not a bad idea unless she just doesn't want a bar of it, some people can be very close minded like that, I know even I have in some circumstances, like that's stupid, I know I would hate that, haha.

I spend an awful lot of time waiting on my brother when trying to spend time with him (and vice versa). We complain about that a lot.

I guess some people are built for gaming, and some aren't. Some have good, understanding relationships, while others have distant and/or power-struggle/manipulative relationships.

I do agree that the needs must come before the wants though - if you have a family that needs to be taken care of, that comes 1st. Then again, if you can't take care of yourself, how can you take care of others?

Just something to think about.

Ahhh, seeing threads like this make me appreciate my wife even more. She would never even think about telling me how I can and cannot spend the money I earn, and that goes the other way as well.

 

My wife does not game but she has bought me every console on day one, she knows it makes me happy. I guess it don't hurt that I get her a new BMW or Mercedes every couple of years.
