Whyyyyy??????

Why does the xbox one update, ALMOST EVERYDAY, and it's virtually unnoticeable. I would be so down to download a dinky little 384 mb update if it actually fixed something.

There's a few HUGE problems that are consistant in the new dashboard, (which God why did you change the dashboard in the first place. IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T GO FIXING IT.)

Clips rarely play on the dashboard, and if they do play and you're in a party, just be ready to invite all those peeps back because they will not be in there once you're finishing up a clip.

The mini-dash goes through spells, sometimessss it works like a dream MOST of the time it's stuck on my screen, leaving me hitting every button until it goes away. Then I'm too terrified to touch it again, in fear that Ill never get it off my screen in enough
time to play a game.

The party chat constantly disconnects, with NO warning. I remember on the xbox 360 when somebody left party chat, there was a little noise that adorned their exit. Noooow if someone leaves, you're talking to a brick wall for 5-10 minutes until someone figures
out you're not even in party anymore and they invite you back.

BRING THE OLD DASHBOARD BACK, OR FIX THIS ONE.

Is that too much to ask Microsoft?

xbox one shuts down

my xbox one shuts down every time i try to play a game everything but play games works WHYYYYYYYYYYY

 

the old dash was broken, slow, horrible, new dash brill, and not causing me any issues so i vote, don't fix it as it works lol

 

What is it its people being terrified of their consoles all f a sudden?? I don't experience any of those issues.....

It must just be my friends and I then, lol. Because all of us have those issues listed above. Which is why I figured I'd post on the forums because somebody has to be also experiencing the problems. I'm sure they'll eventually get to you all, because when
the new dash came out it pretended to be perfect.... but it was all down hill from there. And I meannnn does it have to update every day? Like can I opt out of random updates that serve no purpose? My BF hasn't even gotten the update to see people in eachothers
parties, and Ive updated twice since then...

I suffered issues everyday with new dash got to point I stopped using my xbox sold it last week love the console but but enough was enough for me may give it another go next year

It does seem to have preview program 'symptoms'...



I'd like to make a point about the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" statement that seems to happen regularly enough.

Prior to the new dash update, there were plenty of threads in here, complaining about how "broken" the old UI was, stating certain issues as examples.

After the new dash released, well... again there were plenty of threads in here complaining about how "broken" the new UI is, stating certain issues.

In both instances, each dash had plenty of other people whom it worked for, they didn't experience those issues and they had no complaints.

Draw that to it's logical conclusion and it seems obvious that... Updates don't always fix what's broken. Updates don't always break what's working. Updates don't always work the
way they should. Sometimes an update will fix a problem some are having and actually cause it for some who weren't having it. Such is life when it comes to software/UI, where "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" just doesn't fit the environment.

 

A couple times I noticed I disconnected from the party and it didn't notify me but I don't have many other problems.

 

Because 21st century technology is imperfect. Since Humans are imperfect. That's why technology needs Updates. To fix bugs, improve security, and add new features. Life is about changes, and you go through lots of them if you're young. I've had the Xbox
1 since Launch, and at Launch, that Windows 8 UI took 30 seconds just to open up ONE thing, ANY one thing, it took 30 seconds. The software just struggled to operate fast. I agree Updates can be regular and very annoying and time consuming (lol that The Sims
4 Update I downloaded today on my PC wasted 3 minutes of my life, and I have 100mb/s download and 10mb/s upload speed with Vodafone NZ). Be aware if you choose to opt in for this Preview Program thingy. I have never been in it.

 

I will say this about the new dashboard.. it needs fewer pictures of 50 year-old men on it.

Ah darn, what do I know? Maybe it's every gamers dream to have a console with an old corporate dude staring at them on the front-end? Going for that 'mass appeal' angle... clearly.

How long does it take people to download these 250-400mb's updates? I know times will vary but my Internet is a regular 50meg d/l and it takes 10-15 minutes, or at least long enough for my pad to turn off!
