Why You Should Hire Gamer Geeks

is just a fun little article I found that I thought would be great for starting a discussion. Do you agree or disagree? Which games on the Xbox One console do you think (if any) could help improve which skills that could potentially lead to which jobs/careers
and why?

I'm more than positive that Galactic Geek is a M$ employee. If not they should hire him. He's just as full of crap as all the suits at M$. He don't listen to people's concerns and just spouts out *** like all M$ suits.

 

Giving a game away?

Why not hire real mods...?

Well then, please do elaborate.

 

Surely gaming helps with skills like problem solving or good hand eye coordination... To sum up the entire article, gamers are awesome!

 

If someone games enough to garner some skills that can be applicable in the workforce, there is a chance there is the downside that this person is physically and socially unhealthy from all their alone time sitting in one place. Before I get attacked from
every direction, note that I said "there is a chance".

Lol I went for a job at Asda was working on beers and wines sat in office one afternoon talking to manager about consoles and he tested my knowledge on me games and console stats offered me the section leader job on games and entertainment

 

Another curious question.

If you are well enough to game... are you well enough to work?

 

Some people don't have the time to work as it interferes with their gaming time.

The trick is to work for yourself! Then you have a flexible work/gaming schedule.

 

@ Az, that actually got me thinking.

I mean if you had the ability to game then I struggle to think of a situation health wise that would prevent you from doing some sort of work. I'm not saying there isn't people in this situation but I'm struggling to think of one.

The reason it got me thinking. A friend of mine and the wifes had meningitis last year, various other complications followed, basically he's lucky to be alive today. He lost one leg just below the hip, the other below the knee. Ok he can't do the work he
use to but he still goes out and works part time and games as well.

 

That report said people should play for less than 1 hour a day. What woiuld be the point in that? Takes an hour to get a good game going these days.

Gamers are just people, gaming is just a hobby. Employing somebody just because they are a 'gamer' is quite ridiculous imo.

 

I don't recall the article saying they were hired "just" because they were gamers. They were hired for their skills, which they may have received from playing games.

I recall reading an article a long time ago about a guy who got hired at a major company because on his application he had listed a bevy of skills that he had garnered over the past few years while leading a World of Warcraft clan. It had things like organizational
skills, leadership skills, communication skills, etc.

 

Soooooo basically the article is saying you can get the skills from gaming that you should get from 'life' anyway?

 

shhhh Boas Bs5 gamers have to feel special. It not like I going be hiring people because they a fan of my football team.
