Why xbox keeps saying I'm out of space for saved data but I have 130 gigabytes left

If your Xbox says you're out of space for saved data even though you have plenty of free storage on both your internal drive and external Seagate Game Drive, this usually points to an issue with reserved space, corrupt data, or cloud sync conflicts. Here's how to handle it:

First, clear the local saved games cache, no data loss here.

Go to Settings > System > Storage devices

Select Clear local saved games

This will remove local copies and resync your data from the cloud when you launch games again.

Also, check for any corrupted saved data. To do so, go to My games & apps > See all > Games

Highlight a game and press the Menu button

Select Manage game and add-ons

Check the Saved Data section for any corrupted files (they’ll usually be marked with a yellow warning icon)

If found, delete only the corrupted save (not the entire game data)

If that didn't work, try Power cycle your console:

Hold the Xbox power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it turns off completely

Unplug it for 30 seconds

Plug back in and power on

This clears temporary files that could be triggering the low space error.

Confirm game is installed on the correct drive

Some titles try to save data to the drive where they’re installed. If your internal drive is being used for saves but the game is on the external one (or vice versa), it may cause sync issues. Try moving the game to the internal drive if the error keeps happening.

Check if you’re out of cloud storage

If you're using a non-Gold account, Xbox cloud saves might hit a hidden cap. You can’t manually clear cloud saves, but clearing local saves (Step 1) forces a fresh re-sync and may free things up.

if you have a lot of same files you've undoubtedly running out of cloud storage space, you need to choose to delete them in both local and in the cloud

Hi You will have run out of storage space on your console. You have a few options, you can either Delete some games/save data from your console to make room, or install additional storage space. The easiest wawy would be to remove some games/save data from the existing storage.

I have 500gb left of space on my console itself and I have an external storage with almost 2tb of storage left so that it’s full is not the case here

Yes your info is on point,i am talking about cloud saves and so does the error message, obviously the console has enough gb to save.....yet again Skyrim does have its 5.0gb reserved space AND another 3.9 gb saved data IN THE CONSOLE,,these show up when I'm at the manage game and addons area....and there still much hard drive left

I do have a lot of skyrim saves of course,you think theose many saves cause the error? Even with the 5gb reserved space and 3.9 game save data in the console?

But if so.... why didn't this error show up in my last xbox one that i just gave away? It had the same Skyrim saves AND a longer list of games played and saved AND just 200MB hard drive left ...yet no error ....

How do you find out how much space you have for saved data?

I dont understand if there is available storage why they cant be used for saved data? Seems like a very poor design
