Why would my HDMI port stop working? I had it hooked to my tv & it suddenly stopped...

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues connecting your Xbox to your TV. I understand that it suddenly stopped working. Did your TV turned black or is there any error message that you can share?

For us to isolate your issue, please try to use a different HDMI cable and see if you will get the same results.

To make sure that what you are experiencing is not related to your device cache, I would recommend that you perform a power cycle. Please note that this is different from a regular restart, Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 50 seconds.

Important: Make sure that you wait at least 50 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

I did that, and even tried a different HDMI port and enabled HDMI Deep Color on that port as well but it wouldnt work. To be fair it initially worked and then suddenly stopped, which led to the current predicament. I plugged into a sucky non-4k tv and the
Xbox auto-reverted out of 4k mode.

If the Xbox is working with the same HDMI cable on a different TV, then that would lead me to believe the HDMI port on the TV in question is bad. I had a bad HDMI port on my TV as well that just went out one day. If it works on another TV with the same
HDMI cable then I would say the Port on the TV has quit working.

I had a bit of a problem when I hooked up to my new HD TV. HDMI 1 did not work with the 360 for some reason. I tried hooking up to HDMI2 and everything worked perfectly. If your TV has more then one HDMI imput, try it in another port. I know this sounds
pretty simple, but it worked for me.

I tried, it works through component, but I don't know why it just suddenly stopped working through HDMI.
