Why won't Xbox game bar download onto my computer

We appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue on the error, ‘0x803FB005’, when trying to install applications from Microsoft Store. Let us work as a team to get to the bottom of this.

This issue usually appears if there’s a problem with the server or corrupted application in your device. Let us check it though by performing some troubleshooting steps.

We would like to ask few questions to help us further isolate the issue.

1. Are you connected with VPN?

2. Are you using third-party antivirus?

3. When did the issue start? Has there been any changes with the device before this issue happen?

For the meantime, here are the additional troubleshooting steps that we can try:

1. If you are using third-party antivirus, turn it off for a while and try downloading the app again.

2. Run the Windows Store app troubleshooter.

• Press Start.
  
• Click the Type here to search button.
  
• Input troubleshoot in the search box.
  
• Click Additional troubleshooters to open the window shown in the snapshot directly below.
  
• Select Windows Store Apps, and click the Run the troubleshooter button.
  
• Restart Windows after going through the troubleshooter.
  

3. Perform system scan. This will scan and recover corrupted system files.

• In the Windows search bar, search for Command Prompt and Run as administrator.
  
• Copy the command one line at a time below it and paste it at the command prompt then press enter:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

It seems that you are having issue updating Xbox Game Bar through Microsoft store. Let us help you get to the bottom of this.

There could be several reasons why the Xbox Game Bar is not downloading onto your computer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:



1. Make sure Windows is up to date.

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
  
• On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
  
• On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available
  

including optional updates for your device.

• Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
  
• Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.
  

2. Try resetting the Microsoft Store cache. To do this, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type in "wsreset.exe" without the quotes. This will clear the Microsoft Store cache. Then try to download Xbox Game Bar again.

3. Uninstall and Reinstall Xbox Game Bar.

• To uninstall, type Xbox Game Bar in the Windows search box, right-click and click Uninstall. After uninstalling, restart the computer.
  
• To reinstall, Open the Microsoft Store, search for Xbox Game Bar using the search box, and click on install.
