Why won't Steam work?

I am currently using a Lenovo Legion Tower 5, and I have Steam installed. However, whenever I try to finish the updating process it needs to go through, it stops halfway through, claiming that I need to be connected to the internet to install the update when I am already connected to the internet, which works perfectly fine. I've never had any trouble with this on my old laptop, so I have no idea why it's so difficult to deal with now.

Does anyone know what the cause of this issue might be?

There could be several reasons why Steam is having trouble updating. Here are a few things you can try:

Restart your router and modem to make sure your connection to the internet is stable.

Temporarily disable any firewalls or antivirus programs you have running, as they may be blocking Steam from accessing the internet.

Check to make sure your computer's date and time are set correctly.

Try disabling any VPNs you may be using.

If you have a slow or intermittent internet connection, try pausing and resuming the download.

If you're on a wireless connection, try switching to a wired connection to see if that helps.

Make sure your Steam app is up to date.

Try deleting the appcache folder in your Steam directory.

If none of these solutions work, you can try verifying the integrity of your game files through Steam. To do this, right-click on the game in your Steam library, select "Properties", and then click the "Local Files" tab. From there, you can click the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" button. The reason why it doesn't work in Windows 10 Store games (UWP) is because the Dual Shock 4 isn't a Xinput device and therefore Windows itself won't see it as such. Steam has built in support for all sorts of controllers and can provide Xinput from its own
software. That's why it works in Steam but not Win 10 games.

The only way I know of is by DS4Windows, although not owning a DS4 controller I have no experience myself.

It's peculiar my HP 8300sff the win10 capture will work for youtube and fibre tv(tvbell.ca) on desktop, to watch live golf, but my gaming pc (i5,16ram,gtx780ti) win 10 capture will record gaming on steam, youtube video but will not record fibre tv(tvbell.ca) on desktop (audio with black screen)

Why it won't work fibre tv(tvbell.ca) but works on youtube and steam games is I think is too weird to troubleshoot.

Play anywhere does not work with steam as steam is their own thing

The reason why you can cross play on steam and xbox one is because of waypoint
