Why won't my xbox recognise my discs

So, this issue only affects some discs, is that correct?

If you're using an External drive for your Xbox games, most Series X titles cannot be played from these drives, only stored. You'll see the "faster storage needed" message when this is the case.

Try deleting the games affected by the "do you own this game?" issue, then reinstall it from the disc.

From what you mention, this only happens to you with one game on your Xbox Series, so it is impossible that the disk or the unit is damaged, so the only option left to solve this problem is to check if you have any pending updates on your console that is preventing the operation of this disk.

1. Make sure your console is connected to the Internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
3. Under Updates, you will see:

- Update available for the console. Select to start the update, or
- There are no updates available for the console. This means that the console is up to date.

3 of the games i have come up with the same message,"do you own this game?, if so insert it now" the other 1 comes up with "looks like you need to renew your xbox game pass" this one i especially don't understand because i have the physical copy on disc. Anytime i try to insert any of the discs these messages come up.

The games in question are:

Assassins Creed Valhalla

Assassins Creed Origins

Forza Horizon 3

No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky is the game pass one, the other 3 come up with the "do you own this game" message, when it first happened though i thought i hadn't transferred them properly because i upgrade from a One S to The Series X and they worked perfectly fine on the One S

No, I have not tried it in the Xbox One as it is my understanding that it won't play on the One.

The disc isn't perfect but there are no major scratches. The Xbox 360 recognises the disc and gives me the option to Play but when I select this it then comes up with the 'incompatibility' message.
