    Why won't my XBOX One S load anything at all?


    Recently I performed the December software update and it has been acting up ever since. After the update when I turned it on, the initial green screen loading went like it always does and so did the signing-in go smoothly. The home screen displayed a 'Quick tips' box, below it was the 'Store' followed by 'See what your friends are up to' or 'Some games are free now..'. Usually, my recently played games are displayed, however now that area is empty. As I wanted to play games, I tried opening the 'My games and apps' section where too nothing loaded. Then I tried figuring out what the problem could be by opening 'Setting' which of course didn't bother to load too just getting stuck at a blank screen with the setting logo in the center. The same occurrence happened when I tried opening any other service app. I restarted the Xbox using the restart option given 3-4 times. Then I tried hard resetting by unplugging all wires for at least 30 seconds a couple of times. Now I tried the method of holding down the power button for 8 seconds and then restarting after a break whose inability to make an effect is why I am writing this. I believe this could be because of the monthly update as this problem started immediately after that update.

    I'm really sorry that my previous answer didn't help you and it seems like you've already tried everything. At this point I would consider taking it to a technical service, but here I leave you an option to be able to factory reset it as you want to see if it works.

    To reset your Xbox with a USB flash drive:

    1.Download the latest version of the Xbox Factory Reset Tool from the Microsoft website.
    2. Create a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space.
    3. Copy the factory reset tool files to the USB flash drive.
    4. Connect the USB flash drive to your Xbox.
    5. Press and hold the Pair  and Eject  buttons for 10 to 15 seconds.
    6. When you hear two power-on tones, release the buttons.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset process.

    If your problem persists, consider taking it for a checkup. Please note that in this public forum there are only players like you trying to guide and help other players with basic problems. We are not Microsoft employees.

    Thank you Hoskayra for your efforts. But unfortunately these methods didn't work.

    I tried the first method a couple of times before writing that message and once more after reading your reply and as we know, it didn't help.

    I would love to try factory resetting it for which you asked me to open the settings page but as I wrote before that when I tried opening 'settings', the Xbox got stuck at a blank screen with the settings logo in the center no matter how much time I give it to load.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    I have here steps that we can try, please perform an extended power cycle and reset your network hardwar by following the steps below:

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.

    xbox one works great, but I can't see anything anymore!

    I have a slightly similar issue. with the exception that my Xbox one S won't display anything and I can not hear anything either. I've tried the prescribed remedial actions with no success. Is there anything I can do aside from sending my brand new Xbox
    One S back to Microsoft? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
