Why won't my earphones work anymore ?

So, I have these sony earphones ( only one of the earphones work now ) that i used to listen and talk with on my xbox. I don't know why but after the new update they completely don't work anymore. They work on my phone and all that but I want to know why
they won't work anymore. I've tried another set of earphones ( not mine ) and only ONE of them works but when i move the cable around both work. Has xbox just said no to Sony headphones/earphones ? I don't really feel like buying another set of earphones so
can someone please tell me what I should do?

microphone is work on mobile but why it dosen't work on my xbox one stereo adapter

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Question.

If you have an older controller then the Adaptor will allow you to use your apple earphones.

If you have a new controller, you don't need the adaptor. They'll plug straight in.

Apple's earphones are standard earphones with a standard jack.

The earphones from your Sony Walkman from 1986 will work.

 

I have in-ear Sony also - and they work. These was the type for phones(4 divisions on plug), but also ran normal stereo Sennheiser with no problem..

Last time I fiddled with audio settings - I set to Windows Sonic.

But that was on last update and never used it before that.

And I have the later controller without needing an adapter for headphones.

So check out if any setting were changed for audio from the update.

And check batteries are ok etc.

Sounds to me like the headphone jack is slightly broken, I mean like you said "and only ONE of them works but when i move the cable around both work."

Do you not have another controller to test them on?
