Why won't my disc based game install?

    Why won't my disc based game install?


    Topic.

    I accidentally uninstalled the game last week because I needed space to install something else, I'm trying to reinstall it and it keeps throwing up errors..

    My external 2 TB hard drive has 1.5 TB left so there's more than enough space for it.

    What gives?

    Worn out disc?

    Game updates oddity!

    The disc must be in. Basically a verification. Any disc based game won't finalize an update w/o the disc loaded.

    That is correct, Errick. Even after installing disc-based games. You do still have to insert the disc each time you want to play.

    Which precise error does it give you?

    Generally, to solve installation problems, simply clear the cache from the console by holding down the power button for 10 secs. In addition you could try to install the game by setting the console to "Offline".

    Error number 0x800757570 I think.

    I looked it up on here and it said server error or something, so I downloaded a free game to see if it worked and it did, so I suspect the problem is this particular game, as I also tried to download it after buying it digitally (even though I have the disc)
    and even that wouldn't download either.

    Are you using a disc to install? If so why not try installing the disc offline first then apply updates after.

    Using Xbox Offline

    Once you have installed the game from the disc without a network connection, reconnect and update your game through My Apps & Games.

    Hoping this will work if it is a disc based install :)
    No sorry this is digital based, I should've been more specific. But thanks anyways!

    What do you mean by the Xbox One does not have any digital version of games? Everything stored on the Xbox One is digital. On the non-disc based games the license is stored on the HDD while on the disc based games the license is stored on the disc.
    Did you read my post correctly?

    If for example I had a game in my collection on disc, installed from disc, then suddenly the game either became a Games with Gold, or a Game Pass title (assuming I had a game pass sub), that disc based game will no longer ask for the disc, should I attempt
    to launch it without said disc. The console will know I own the 'digital' license for it and won't check to see if the disc is present.

    Sometimes there is confusion on these forums regarding games, installed from disc or downloaded. The disc games and the downloaded games are the same, only the way you get them is different.

    That is the point I'm getting at.
