Why won't minecraft update?

According to the information in the thread, it is recommended that you use the Game Services Repair Tool for PC before installing any Minecraft updates when it becomes unpaused, by following these steps:

1. Launch the Xbox app on PC.
2. Click your Profile picture.
3. Click on Support.
4. Click on Gaming Services Repair Tool.
5. Click on Start Troubleshooting.

Help me update minecraft it's been trying for a week

If you purchased Minecraft for the PC, that doesn't automatically get you the Xbox One version unfortunately.

If you're trying to update Minecraft on your PC and it's stating you don't have an account, that's most likely why it won't update. It will not properly connect to their services until the account is authed.

At least that has been my experience with it.

You may have to contact Minecraft support for this issue. You can submit a ticket to Mojang here: Submit a request – Home and see if they can provide more clarity on how to receive the 1.18.2 update.
