    Why wont it let me download the new version of MInecraft for Windows 10 ?


    My sons Minecraft has not worked ever since the computer downloaded Windows 10. We gave up on it for awhile. Now he is begging to play this again. It said I needed to download the version for windows 10. I redeemed my code to do that. Now it keeps saying
    error something went wrong on their end. But i cant contact anyone! Please help!

    Hello,

    I recently bought Minecraft Windows 10. Unfortunately, I can't run this game on my computer. I did not know there was several versions of Minecraft, that is why I would like to know if it is possible to change the version of Windows 10 to the version for
    all PC's : Minecraft Java edition.

    Hi,

    Did you purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 originally, or was it a free download?

    You may be playing on the trial version.

    This previous help thread may solve your problem should you have purchased the game.

    I cannot join my friend on windows 10 minecraft.

    Not sure if it is still possible but you might have different versions. When I downloaded the Minecraft better together beta on my one. I could not join my windows 10 version until I downloaded the beta for win 10 version also. You or your friend might have
    the win 10 version while the other has the new better together version of Minecraft.

    I don't get an error code accept for "an error occurred on our end" and a manual install also does not work.

    Also is their three packages for the minecraft launcher?

    One that is for both java edition and inecragt for Windows

    The second java edition

    The third minecraft for windows.

    I did eventually get a version to work since the old launcher redirected me to the new launcher which I installed and did let me install minecraft for windows version.

    However the store version which downloads java edition and something else never worked.

    Not by reseting not by uninstalling and reinstalling not by downloading from the minecraft website and manually downloading.

    Minecraft windows 10 edition, export map to Desktop version of minecraft.

    To my knowledge the windows 10 version of Minecraft is written in C++ compared to java so it wont be compatible as the windows 10 version is a UWP app which allows it to play with Xbox one and PC while the java version is standalone, you can export worlds
    from xbox to windows 10 but not from windows 10 version to java, I hope that clears up your concern
