    Why won't Backward compatible games play remotely?


    Like my subject states. I love playing remotely when I'm out and about. But why can't Xbox Backwards Compatible games be played? I wouldn't see an issue since these games are developed from older consoles and the graphics could be played in their original format. Any information towards this matter would be appreciated.

    I've been trying to find answers to this, because up until this point, I HAVE been playing back-compat games on my Xbox through remote play on my PC. I was surprised when I finally tried remote play on my phone that games I've been playing remotely on PC for a while now didn't work! In fact, every game I've tried via PC so far has worked. Thought something was wrong with the setup on my phone, but I guess they just aren't supported on mobile for some reason.

    Why wouldn't this work for Digital Games I own. For instance Splinter Cell Games or Disc Versions of Games that I can play normally but not remote? What makes those different?

    Hi,

    The Xbox 360 version of State of Decay is not backwards compatible with the Xbox One, which is why it won't appear on your library. If you're still interested in this game you need to buy the Xbox One version.

    If a 360 game is not on the Backwards compatible list you won't be able to play it on your Xbox One regardless of you owning the title.
