Why will my Xbox 360 Slim not play original Xbox games?

I have an xbox 360 slim with a Microsoft 50 GB hard drive. I have tried 4 Xbox original games that worked on my old white 360 and now they don't work. When I put the disks inside the console a white box pops up and says "The game could not start. Try downloading
it again". These games are also on the list of working games. The titles are:

Morrowind

Street Fighter Anniversary Collection

Spiderman

Starwars Battlefront II

Of course it is quite a bit bigger than the 360 slim, the original Xbox 360 was bigger than the slim, I'm sure it's bigger than the Xbox One slim will be too. That's the point of releasing the slim versions later on. But it is only 2.4cm longer than the original Xbox 360, which is what it should be compared to, not the revised, shrunk later released versions.

I have a original xbox 360 arcade from 2008 and a 2011 250gb slim and can not tell any differents. Besides the slim gets alot warmer than my original arcade mode every did. Don't know why i thought the slims were supposed to run cooler?

 

It would be the hard drive. The only official MS hard drives for the Slim are the 250gb and 320gb. There is no 50 gb. You need an official MS hard drive in order to play Xbox games.

 

Did you check to see If you ran out of space on your hard drive? Also about the hard drive, is it built in or is it like a flash drive or USB? Cause I've never heard of an Xbox with a 5GB hard drive.

But then again some of the Xbox original games that were backwards compatible for the old white (pro) and black (elite) Xbox's are not backwards compatible for the new Xbox Slim.

 

that is not true as long as you have the real MS brand hard drive ANY 360 will play any game as long as it is on the supported list.

 

Its a 60gb hard drive and it says microsoft when I look at my storage devices on the console.

 

that means nothing fake drives can still have that but as the others said there is NO such thing as a 60 gig drive for the slim only the 250 or the 320. if it was a real 60 gig say one from the old clip on style but in a slim enclosure it should still play
the games. but most fakes are random sizes and are missing the critical emulation software needed to play the older games and there is NO way to add it if it is missing.
