Why we getting ripped off

True enough man, I would not mind living in this rich stable UK though .

Wow that's mental that they can pay so much more than us for a game, I thought it was getting expensive here. Like having to wait 3 months was'nt bad enough on its own, pretty shocking tbh fella.

I might moan a little less now about the cost of some games.

The problem with Collectors Editions is down to two things currently in my view

Exclusivity Deals and Price Drops

The issue with GAME Group recently showed the dangers of Exclusivity deals as they held it for the N7 version of Mass Effect 3. I had a pre-order for this with my local Game Station, had more then enough points from previous trade ins for it to make it a
no brainer. But then the administration kicked in, and I lost the chance to get the edition because no way was I going to just splash the full price of it for what it was.

Price drops, I remember attending the midnight launch of Halo Reach, the last Collectors Edition I picked up. Content wise its one of the best CE versions i have ever bought for a game, as a legit HALO Fanboy it was amazing. But then, in less then say a
month, retailers were selling versions of it for less then half price near enough.

I understand the draw to Collectors Editions, and retailers know this..they will sell high price as long as they can for as long as the title is in demand then boom...they will drop it as low as they can to get rid of stock...depends how patient or how much
you want that CE version

They know that whatever they charge for the collectors edition of a new game, there will be people who will buy it, despite having reservations about the cost. I have done so in the past myself.

But if you're not too fussed about owning collectors editions brand new, the best bet would be to wait until they start appearing second hand in the shops and online.
