Sadly there hasn't been any information released as to why it was retired.

You can only get those hardware from third party stores as Microsoft stopped retailing them a long time ago.

I’m not sure if the console is still in working condition, I am also missing the power cord and controller. Is there a way to have it changed without using the console? And if not am I still able to purchase a power cord and controller for the old Xbox?

Yes, I believe you could have that changed if you used the same account on the Original Xbox console.

You're trying to access it on a iPhone. I don't believe the iPhone's Safari browser fully supports the Xbox Museum website. In any case, I believe you'll need a keyboard to move your avatar around different sections of the page.

The site is best viewed on a computer or suitable tablet device with a keyboard attached.
