Why was main 1080i thread locked?

This issue has not been solved and is still big problem for many Xbox One owners. Support has provided absolutely no solution for those of us with 1080i only HDTVs and we need to keep this thread open until we have a solution (that doesn't require us to
buy additional equipment) and to make other potential Xbox One buyers aware of this issue.

Was it locked because Microsoft is adding 1080i output in the next update? If so, that is great news, please let us know. Or was it locked because Microsoft is trying to sweep this issue under the rug and hoping people will forget about it?

why would anyone crave for 1080i? 1080p or i don't care quite frankly! 1080i is old hat

You've been misinformed EnenDaveyBoy. 1080i is not dieing out. Most all TV stations broadcast in 1080i and the PS4 outputs 1080i.

Many people own HDTVs that can only display 1080i, so the Xbox One doesn't work properly on these TVs.

Here's just a couple of threads asking about 1080i. There have been many threads. Unfortunately, most have been derailed by people posting misinformation.
