Why "thread closed"?

I have recently ask a question and after I have got a reply I have tried to reply to them and I cannot because the thread is marked as close ... this is like a day or two later. So I had to reply within a new post but; again, if I tried to reply I couldn't
due to 'Thread Closed' .... why is this?

Threads are closed by the moderators when it appears to be answered or is not progressing satisfactorily.

Hello Widj,

Thanks for coming to the forums. The thread was closed as the forums are unable to handle refunds at all. You need to follow up with the person that denied your refund or contact support. As the issue was answered and resolved from what we are able to do
is why it was closed.

I will be locking this thread also as there is nothing more we can do for the issue.
