    why use the launcher, i use minecraft direct without the launcher, you have the option to install minecraft with or without launcher in the xbox app.

    After Minecraft account migration, I am unable to access my Java Edition.

    Not sure why that would change anything, as there's a live connection between the launcher and the Microsoft's servers, but I did it anyway. Uninstalled both the new and old launchers. Installed the new launcher from the Microsoft store app. No change. Java Edition is still missing, and the Minecraft for Windows edition is inexplicably the only one I have. What's next?

    Then why when I open the Minecraft launcher after i changed the password I'm still logged in on my account and I didnt have to put the new password or anything

    Not sure why your Java username is showing as already taken, but since the Minecraft website shows that you own Java, this is probably just an issue with the Launcher syncing data.

    Would you please try to reinstall Minecraft Java and the Minecraft Launcher too?
