Why some people think you can used a real gun by playing video game.

actually would be good to have a feature in games that makes the gun jam up, a bit like gears did, it will make an all new entertaining slayer fest in my opinion. when it comes to hit markers, say you hit them in the foot, at them moment that can still
kill them but it is way to difficult to code this into a game where if you hit them in the arm they lose use of the arm or if you hit them in the leg they fall down but can still shoot and crawl.

I'm sure a lot of people believe they can learn a lot from video games, but video games do not mirror reality in any way. Shooting a gun in reality isn't as easy, jogging after someone until you catch them isn't easy in real life and so on.

It's just a simulation, and anyone who thinks it's reality might need some professional help.

What really sucks, is after all the decades which have passed since I shot a M16 (think before the Berlin wall fell), I still shoot center mass, stop moving, and try to move slowly so I don't run into an ambush. Now I have seen some active duty/former service
members use good squad tactics to pawn pro game players. I agree with the OP that shooters don't portray real life shooting. ESPECIALLY THE MAGIC MAGIZINES! I shot 5 rounds reload. Full magazine.

I grew up watching cartoons where they got blown up, shot, smoked cigars, gambled and basically did all adult things. I turned out ok because I had people in my life who explained right from wrong and reality and satire.

If military games were real simulation it'd be a boring beginning of making clean things cleaner.

On one level "GTA" is nothing more than a murder simulator.

Put that game in the wrong hands and it has the potential to be a factor in de-sensitizing them to violence and crime and warping their sexual development.

You can't completely blame the game but at the same time it's equally stupid to pretend they don't have an impact on the impressionable and the veunerable.

Most unfortunate of all is that too many parents simply have no idea what their kids are playing.

Along similar lines, one of my hobbies is archery. Playing the new Tomb Raider did not want to make me go around silently taking people out with my recurve bow. I also used to go target shooting with a scoped rifle and clay pigeon shooting with an auto 12
gauge. The gun physics on titles like Call of Duty makes me laugh, quick scoping, seriously? lol

It`s just one of those things that the media use as an excuse, "He went on a drive-by killing spree because he played Grand Theft Auto", or "Call of Duty turned him into a gun wielding maniac"
