Why should loyal xbox customers be charged to have a console repaired that they payed over ...

i have been a loyal xbox customer for around 10-9 years now i have had the original xbox the 360 and the xbox one. Just recently my xbox one has decided tat it does not want to play any disks. Just today after a month of troubleshooting with xbox support
we finally got it to play only blu rays after clearing persistent storage and doing a system reset. I have no idea why it will only play blu ray disks and not my games or dvds or 360 games anymore. But i was told i would have to pay 158 dollars american which
would be around 200.57 at the time of this posting. When i had my xbox 360 they repaired it multiple times when it was past the warranty for free why wouldnt this apply to this console now? I am really dissapointed in microsoft changing this and customers
should have a warranty that lasts more then 90 days when you pay over 500 dollars for your console

I was looking at picking up the new xbox one x but i dont know if i would want to if this is how long term customers are being treated and im sure i am not the only one out there who has this same problem

So like you guys I had a day one bricked console, I was told a new one would be there in 2 days, it took a week got it and the new system works, put the broken console in the box, slapped the new shipping sticker on it and sent it about a week ago and thought
all my troubles were done with this thing.....nope. Wake up to an email this morning that they haven't received the console yet and I was going to get charged the $500 for it, I sent it in, they scanned the package so there should be a tracking number. I
don't know why M$ is always *** over there loyal customers, reasons like this is why ppl switch over to PS4.

You were lucky if you had your 360 repaired for free out of warranty. Microsoft has always charged to repair an out of warranty console so that's nothing new (it was about $100 for a 360). That's what most companies do, if they will even fix them.

The One has a one year warrant, not 90 days.

 

I was told today by 2 microsoft agents that it was 90 days for the xbox one and when your spending this kind of money on a console it should be able to be fixed for free with no questions asked? Regardless if you have been an xbox customer for 1 year or
10 years

 

If you pay over 500 dollars (in my case its was 515.67$) you shouldnt have to pay almost half the price of the console to get it fixed? This is a clear and blantent CASH GRAB from microsoft

 

Xbox has always come with a one year warranty,ever since the original xbox,it's never been 90 days.

You get a 90 day warranty on a repaired console so I suspect that's what the person you spoke to meant.

The majority of electrical items come with a one year warranty as standard.

Doesn't matter how long you've had a company's products,once the warranty is over then you need to pay for them to fix it if they will fix it,no matter who that company is.

I've been with xbox since the original xbox launched,so about 15 years,& don't expect to get free repairs on a out of warranty console.

The 360 was only repaired for free after the warranty had expired under certain circumstances due to the problems customers had with the RROD.

I totally agree that the repair fee is way to much.

Here in the U.K. we have certain consumer laws so you could look into that for where ever you are.

Other than that you either need to pay the repair fee,get a new console (which isn't much more money) or do nothing.
