Why should I pay for Xbox Live?

Honestly, I see no justification for this sort of system.

A player pays for a console which can connect to the internet. A player pays for games to play on the internet. A player pays for the internet to actually play those games on.

Why should players have to pay to play with their friends? Quake, Doom, Descent, and Tribes came out way before this era, but they had free online multiplayer you could host from your system because that made sense.

Anyone who backs Xbox Live will usually go to the quote “sErVeR upKeEp” but we know it takes little to no effort or money to keep these things running.

It’s not the player. That’s why they’re called *servers*. They *serve* players who already paid for a console, games, and an internet connection and don’t want to have their multiplayer experience held for ransom.

back then serverss a couple millionm was peer to peer and no wherr as close as to what it is now you are talking about millions more users you are talking about 100s of millions of players not a couple million back in 1990

I can't even remember the last time that I have paid for gold and atm I have Ultimate until the end of 2022 ! ... btw yesterday I purchased CoD - Cold War with Rewards points ^^ ! 😁👍

Hey there, really only you can answer that questions as the worth of Xbox Live comes down to the individual, like me for example, I play games online constantly so I see huge value in it.

Apparently there are some apps that are behind the gold membership, so I would make sure none of your favourite apps fall into that category and then if you can still do everything you want without the gold membership then I would consider dropping it.

Actually, apps are now accessible to Silver Members, which is the default for everyone unless buy the Gold Membership. Only thing about the apps some do require you to have a subscription to their service like Netflix requires a Netflix Subscription. The
TV apps on Xbox 360 require you to have a TV subscription with those providers to be able to use them.

But why? Why we should pay for it even if it is free it must be without live like what other consoles have done. We should not pay because epic games is free on all consoles except Xbox so please make it without live that will increase Xbox fans.
