Why should I buy the xbox one x?

In addition to a Sega Dreamcast I own the first xbox, the 360 and the one. Now I'm beginning to doubt.

Still sound problems. 2 controllers that are worn. Glueing a stick on the elite controller

that was broken because he fell once. Cooling which makes so much noise that it looks like taking off.

Games that contain errors from here to tokyo.

Instead of getting better product with a new xbox, it gets worse.

So why should I buy the new xbox?

Enough to suit you WILD - If you want to compare the companies that sell these items, at those prices, that's one thing. When you go to somewhere like Amazon, you know your going to get your game at a decent price.

I have been playing games, since first Gen Wild, Probably longer than you have. If you don't like the price, you don't have to pay them

And yes there are some out there, like Game, HMV, even Asda, that you will find a £10 to £12 difference. But they have overheads. A Store to Run, Bills to pay, Rent. Why would you pay over the odds for a game, that you can have within 1-2 days, at nearly
the same cost as last Gen.

If you don't want to shop around and pay a sensible price for your games, then good luck to you Wild. But go around telling people, there is this big discrepancy, when if you can actually be bothered to look, You will find them at virtually the same price.
Brand new i hasten to add. Is just making yourself look like you want to argue for arguing sake.

I thought the OP had already made a new thread about actually buying an X1 and it's Pros and Cons.

Yes the Microsoft Store is dearer in the UK (And Europe), than in the US. Deal with it. Europe have always more expensive when it comes to console games, I don't know why. It was really all Generic before console became popular. Which is why i buy Physical.

Got my COD AW for £23, (£42 from Tesco minus my £9.50 Clubcard vouchers doubled up). Which is why when you can find the same game for £12.99 cheaper on launch, i go for the money saving. As 4 saves like that and i have another game. Especially at this time
of year, There are 7 games i want in total in 4 weeks

It's £54.99 on the Micorsoft Store, and £42 at most online retailers. It doesn't bother me. If Microsoft want to charge that, Let them. It's their store and their store Front. Everyone know they would sell more if it was cheaper, but they have their reasons
and stick to them. It's their company and their money. I for one and not going to tell them how to run.

Spend € 2000, - in games over 2.5 years plus a console of € 400, - and then they will not take the time to discuss.

The size of this update, 650Mb, sounds suspiciously like an Insider preview update. I installed 740MB Insider update yesterday at 25Mbps and from Download, Verifying and Applying took approx 20minutes.

Check Settings>System>Console info>OS version and compare it to the General Availability OS version from the link I provided above. If they are not the same you are in a Insider preview.

Let us know what OS version and Shell version you are using on the console.

If you check What's new xbox system updates you will see at most there is 1 or 2 system updates a month for General Availability xbox OS released. You can always manually check for a system update by going to Settings>System>Updates and if a update is available, download and install it.

If however you are in a Insiders preview you may get as many as 3-4 a week depending on what preview ring you are in.

If you are in Insiders you might like to consider going to a lower ring (less updates) or removing the console from Insiders altogether.

Modern consoles are infinitely more complex than the original Xbox. Patches are a daily part of life. Leave your console on instant on as suggested. Patches aren’t going anywhere, especially during a pandemic in a launch window.

Thank you all for your replies. What you say is how it supposed to work but it's far from reality. I have instant on and automatic updates active and yesterday my xbox one was switched off (but standby) the whole day doing nothing....and in the evening we wanted to watch a movie but when we wanted to start the xbox and the tv the Xbox was........updating....it could have been updating the whole day.....when it had started the update when I switched off the Xbox it shoukd have worked like you mention but no.....the xbox was updating for more than an hour.....and no movienight.... dissapointed guests....because the update is always mandatory....and always complete and taking about 1,5 hour..... My other xbox one has also instant on active but not auto update active and it switched on without the update...untill I wanted to start Amazon....and started updating.....My girlfriend has a playstation and less updates, smaller updates, very quick...I regret I have spend so much money in Xbox games...

So...updating when your Xbox is not used could have worked when the xbox starts the update when it is switched of....instead of updating when the xbox is not used whenever it wants to update...with a chance you just wanted to start playing...

I have not opted for the insider program....also had it checked....the misery started when I bought the Xbox One X when it was released...as a 2nd console...and the update misery started on both Xboxes...

Couple of months ago I did saw there was an uodate which I installed because it was not interferring with activity...succesfull installed but next evening there was again an update and both xbox ones started updating

to increase the version with 0.0.00000.0001

Sounds really worth the 1,5 hour update....not!

When the complexity of modern consoles is causing these too frequent too much time consuming mandatory updates the answer to my question is: NO, i should NOT consider the Xbox X anymore because updating is more important than having fun with a gaming console today.......

(maybe they should not develop too quick? Less bugs...less vulnerabilities....lesser new bugs in the bugfixing updates) and the xbox one sadly does not work with patches....installing a patch can be done quick....but installing a patched full image costs 1,5 hour)
