Why should I buy an XB1 ?

I thought the OP had already made a new thread about actually buying an X1 and it's Pros and Cons.

Yes the Microsoft Store is dearer in the UK (And Europe), than in the US. Deal with it. Europe have always more expensive when it comes to console games, I don't know why. It was really all Generic before console became popular. Which is why i buy Physical.

Got my COD AW for £23, (£42 from Tesco minus my £9.50 Clubcard vouchers doubled up). Which is why when you can find the same game for £12.99 cheaper on launch, i go for the money saving. As 4 saves like that and i have another game. Especially at this time
of year, There are 7 games i want in total in 4 weeks

It's £54.99 on the Micorsoft Store, and £42 at most online retailers. It doesn't bother me. If Microsoft want to charge that, Let them. It's their store and their store Front. Everyone know they would sell more if it was cheaper, but they have their reasons
and stick to them. It's their company and their money. I for one and not going to tell them how to run.

I don't think wild was talking about Digital or physical in particular just a generalised 37% next generation fee on all new games no matter what Format. As usual he post no links to back it up. Probably from some clickbait site he visits and gets most of
the stuff he tries to post on here.

 

So, games have gone up...... Not by much in the UK for physical.

There is about a £1-2 difference between Last Gen and Now Gen (So to me, who nearly always buys Physical). That's no real difference at all.

And it's not Just Microsoft, it's Sony. As i stated before, I remember Games costing around £40 for a Snes Game, and i paid upto £85 for imports. So Paying £42, or even £54.99 for the Digital, is not near, what i used to pay, when i was younger, had less
disposable income, and i had just left school, and got a job.

Using a Historic Money calculator, £40 back in 1992 is worth about £74.92 now, So in terms of inflation and what-not, game prices have hardly raised at all. Using that conversion i paid £149.84 for Pop'N'Twinbee on import....... Go figure....

And consoles, My Dad got me an Amiga 500 for Xmas and it cost him £399.99 back then in 1987. That would have been £1023.65 in today's inflated market, and people still moan about today's prices.

Consoles have become so mainstream now, and with media/social media on it's case 24/7, i am surprised any company do any good in this day and age. No matter what happens.

Let's Hope @wild reads your Post hairy. Because according to him, Greedy devs are charging a whopping 37% more for new games as opposed to last gen games. But I was just spinning it.

 

When the games in the UK haven't got release dates, they are listed upto £54, however the prices go down towards the release date, so while they can be listed at higher prices they generally aren't sold for that amount in the UK.

This is very likely to drop the nearer it gets to launch.

However Digital games on the other hand the prices have increased, and in the US there is no price difference between physical and digital, however in the UK the digital price is much higher than physical.

 

Well the Price of digital in Australia is also much higher than Retail, But that is due to an unmoving RRP and lack of competition on the digital front.

But the price of Digital isn't what @wild refers to. I'm not quite sure what he is referring to. He is never willing to back up with links.

 

@ Hairy don't know where you get your prices from it deffinetely not the major retailers. £2.00 try more like £15.00. Alien Isolation on 360 33.99 on One and PS4 49.99.

That's £16 pound to just have the advantage to play on the next gen =rip off.

You can get alien Isolation for under £30 on the xbox one if you shop around. (was £25 on simply games the other week)

 

You should get a Xbox One.

This way when your
PS4 bricks after update 2.0 you'll have something to play.

 

I own both consoles, which allows me to enjoy the exclusives.

 

Wild - Where on Earth do you get your prices from. I see a £4 difference. £36 vs £32. Not what i would call a serious Issue.

And Bird, Most people out of the 12.odd million consoles sold have not had an issue with the new update.

You should buy an xbox one for the same reason I bought a ps4.

Two consoles are better than one and you don't have to miss out on exclusives if you own both consoles

Just to add a little more info to your "PS4 bricks after update 2.0". It's not actually "bricking" the system and it's apparently being caused by going into stand by with a disc in the drive. I personally haven't had the issue.

The solution......hard reboot the PS4. I've owned a PS4 since launch and have never had to do a hard reboot on it. My One on the other hand I'm probably well over a 100 hard reboots. So if we want to base a purchase on how often you have to hard boot it.....I
think it's an easy choice.
