Why require ssd for new gen versions of last gen games

I got a series s and it's a great system but 512gb of storage is a joke and ssds are high $200+ I have my hard drive from my Xbox one s and some of my last gen titles upgraded and now playing them is a pain. I got lucky getting the system but getting me a storage expansion card or a memory card isn't something that anyone can get. Why not let us load series s/x games off the hard drive or let use choose which versions we want to install. Console upgrades for me and most likely others is once in a blue moon and me I don't care about load times.

    :)

Why require ssd for new gen versions of last gen games

That's the thing I want to download the Xbox one copys that way they can be played off the hard drive. I know they question I asked kind of sounds different but to read it I plan out said that either they can make it work on a hard drive or let us download the Xbox One version I don't care about the next gen games I'm voting with my wallet the SSD cost almost as much as the system itself and in my case it's more expensive than the system itself I bought mine out of yard sale and they thought it was broke. SSDs are an expensive luxury it's not something we can all afford especially nvme Gen 4 drives. Basically I want my games to install and run no matter if I have a USB 3.0 SSD or a USB 3.0 mechanical hard drive and I said it several times I'm voting with my wallet. If the PS5 will let you choose which version to install the Xbox should have that option too. But when I said "or let us choose which version to install" what I meant by that was letting us choose to install the Xbox One version of that title I know as games advance it's going to get to the point where ssds will be required but right now we're not at that point and I'm pretty sure you're getting tired of me saying this but I'm voting with my wallet. There is no option to not install the next gen upgrade I installed destiny 2 on an Xbox One s an Xbox on loan from a friend and I went to install destiny 2 on it and then plug my hard drive into the series s it immediately failed launch and installed the patch. I tried to find ways around it and it's stupid. I said the Xbox one for my first post was mine technically it is but I haven't paid my friend completely for it so it still technically on loan but it's still a disappointment. All I want is to be able to play games like destiny 2 games that are big in file size to be played on my external hard drive because 512 GB is not enough. I mainly made this post cuz I want to see what Microsoft has to say because there's no practically no feedback option the only thing it gives me is report a problem and that itself is annoying. People like y'all can keep on justifying the SSD and yes them justifications is valid but you have to think on the people that can't afford an SSD that's almost the price as the console they paid for some of us have enough trouble trying to buy the system to begin with. Money doesn't grow on trees that's why I keep on saying I'm voting with my wallet I rather pay $50 for a 2 TB hard drive then $212 or 299 for a 1 TB SSD which where I live at it's 299 for 1 TB SSD for the Xbox. I paid $150 for my Xbox series s at a yard sale because they thought it was broke. For how new the ssds are and how expensive they are to make I can understand why they're high but for the price of an SSD that's why I want to play the Xbox One versions of the games on my series s it's just something that a lot of people can't afford. But if Microsoft replies to this good if they don't that's okay too that just means I'm not getting my answer on why I can't install the Xbox One versions of games. And I'm not saying install the Xbox One version of cyberpunk that game should be delisted from the Xbox One. And I'm going to say it again I'm voting with my wallet. Eventually Xbox One titles will stop coming out and that's okay it will eventually happen and I will just have to bite the bullet and get an SSD and hopefully when that happens ssds might be cheaper that or I can probably find a good deal on one. If you download to a hard drive the console will tell you to transfer it over to the SSD that's how smart delivery works it installs the game based on your console that you have which in my opinion needs to be changed

Yes I understand that Sony branded titles after forbidden West won't get a free upgrade but that's not what I'm talking about unlike call of duty where you can choose which version to install some games with the smart delivery logo should let you choose if you want the "next-gen experience"or just want the base version with none of the next gen upgrades I don't care about Ray tracing that's why I don't own a series x if I even could afford one I don't care about 120 hertz I don't care about fast access or fast loading and I'm not the only one that thinks this way. What I'm talking about on ps5 and I'm going to use Scarlett Nexus as an example on the PS5 you can choose between the PS4 version to install or the PS5 version to install or if you wanted to you can install both versions my best friend has a PS5 and installing ps4 version of the game is his favorite feature because back when the system launched the nvme slot was not active. I want to be able to have the choice to select which version I want and not have the Xbox make it for me. That's what I'm trying to say I don't care about the next gen experience I care about my games running without moving or deleting games to make room or spending 200 to $300 all because the "next generation is recommended" I enjoy playing the last gen version of call of duty Cold war it runs great it looks good and the load times isn't bad for the game running on a hard drive. Destiny 2 came out on the PS4 and Xbox One on the PS5 you could either install the PS4 version or the PS5 version or hell even both but on the Xbox series s I can only install the series version which yes on the PS4 and Xbox One the load times is a nightmare but they were still good experiences and I would love to be able to play that on the hard drive instead of transferring the game back and forth between the hard drive and SSD for how big the game is in size. like I mentioned before I'm thinking on my wallet not on the improvements of NextGen and to be honest it wasn't for the fact that my PS4 failed and finding PS4 is a pain I would have never bought an Xbox series s. I understand that you and many of the Xbox and Playstation fanboys will support the decisions that that platform holder makes but if two versions of the game is available for both generations of that system you should be able to choose which one you want to install if you have the new generation system Sony already does this but Microsoft does not unless if that title lets you.

Because your ssd hdd don't even come close to the experience from.nvme

You do know that nvme devices blows away any of your hdds right?

    You are talking about mbps

Vs gbps and you are creating a huge bottleneck by using 4 buses vs direct access

And the drives aren't expensive you just aren't comparing rabbit to rabbits

More like rabbit to a tortuise literally you are talking about 500mbps from your hdd plus going thru 4 buses

Vs 4.8 gbps direct access to your cpu memory and northbridge

We ain't in the 1980s we passed beyond relying on bottlenecks

Even computers don't come with hdd anymore

    They use nvme nowadsys

You are talking about little load time and fast access time vs 2-5mins loadtimes

That does make sense and it is valid and for the users that would complain it's up to the user to see which version they have installed. The majority would probably install the next-gen version anyway. But it would be nice to have the ability to download the last gen games we all can't afford an SSD that cost almost if not as much as the console that's really my main argument. I'm still sticking to it also smart delivery is a good idea but our consoles shouldn't decide which version of that game we should install we should decide that for ourselves. For the people that decides to install the last gen version of games and complain about the graphics that's their own fault not the fault of Microsoft or the company that developed the game it's the user's fault if the user decides to download the last gen version of a game and expect next-gen graphics then they're stupid. I'm still voting with my wallet the memory cards or storage expansions cards it's just too high right now I wouldn't be complaining about this if it wasn't for that fact.

Basically to sum it all up smart delivery works by console not by hard drive if you install a smart delivery game to your series s or x on to the hard drive it will tell you to move it to the SSD. Where I live at a 1 TB SSD cost as much as the serious s by itself for how much I paid for the series s it cost more. I know the one terabyte memory card launched at 212 but it raised in price to 299 which is as much as a series s that's the issue it's price that's why I wish smart delivery well let me choose which version I want to install.
